Only makes sense if you actually want that YG GMT II and can get at least a little bit of a discount on it.

If you really want the GMT YG then its a great deal. Like others have said....I would try and get a little discount on the GMT. I would personally ask for a WG or YG Daytona....have him give you the YG Daytona with green dial = bonus

Spend $33k to be allowed to spend another $12k? Absolute lunacy.

I would do this deal.

All gold GMT II looks great imo, and market value of those are not that far off of the sticker price tbh.

Did he at least offer some lube? Don't buy what you don't want to get something you do. Silly.

Tell them yes, but you need to ring it up in two transactions on a different card each time. Size and pay for the Daytona first. Then say you’ve changed your mind on the other piece and just leave. Two can play at that game.

Or I’ll just buy the gmt off you for $10k

I have been on the Daytona list for 2 years and today got the call asking if I wanted the next one that comes in. The catch is it involves a "leveraged" transaction. If I pass I will probably never see another one from this AD. Other ADs that I have been on "the list" have lost their AD status. Tough call

Just left the AD. Went in to discuss the logistics and pricing to try to negotiate a discount on the GMT and was told they already sold the Daytona to someone else.

What a horrible experience

It’s funny how everyone thinks bundling is such a bad word... VIPs are VIPs because they’ve bundled plenty of watches... bundled them over time.

I never thought I'd say this but I think I'd rather pay the $22k for just the black Daytona from a grey than to pay almost $50k at an AD. But if you really want that GMT and was gona get one anyway, then go for it.

I'm sorry, man. It was a bad deal anyway and they saved you the trouble of ever doing business with them again. Really, a terrible way to treat a potential $50k purchase.

You have one to recommend the poor guys here who can’t get a Daytona or GMT without bundling or relationship building?

Or you just enjoy sounding smug?

If you may afford it then do not hesitate. You also have to be fond of 116718. I personally like it a lot plus it was discontinued recently. I would have gone into it immediately!

You shouldn’t be worried. They will get another Daytona sooner than you expect. Now even you may try to get some discount on the GMT. Though do it in advance.

Technically, if you agree and move forward with the deal then went the following morning to return the PM GMT, no one can tell you anything!!
Of course that would ruin any relationship with the AD and I personally wouldn’t do it but they are really playing it dirty!!

Finally I’m starting to think that Rolex USA has a direct or indirect role in this by putting pressure on ADs to sell a certain number of PM watches and that’s the they they can unload them!!

I would only move forward with that deal if I want both watches!!

That would be the route i went lol. I don’t really need the ADs but i wouldn’t mind a Daytona. I had a conversation today with a friend about how gross Rolex is getting. Obviously this isn’t Rolex doing but when it’s an AD, the lines feel blurred. It’s used car sales.

That is beyond ridiculous. 14k for a lady DJ just to get a Sub? Forget it.

That AD is a POS in my opinion. Drop a ridiculous deal on you and when you walk in to entertain it they F you with “it’s sold” I better not see a F$&#% YG GMT on display anywhere or ill would have caused a scene.

The gods have spoken. Wasn’t meant to be for you and sounds like the transaction was not going to be in your favor at all. Honestly, spend the extra $9k and get it grey. Think about it this way, with taxes it would be like $13.5k at the AD anyway. You would’ve taken a $10k hit on a gold watch like that or a lady DJ anyway and would have to kiss up to those scumbags. With some of these greys, they’re no BS. Get it and never look back. If you’re buying to keep and not to flip what’s the diff what it costs? Eventually it’ll be worth more anyway.

Definitely not , would you go into your local car dealer and buy two cars when you only wanted one

Yes. Good deal. Youre buying a discontinued watch whilst getting a rare watch.

No brainer. Send that over if you're not getting it

This is what Ferrari has been doing for as long as I can remember, and it makes great sense for a business to operate in this way with regard high demand products.

Seems like a reasonable deal to me. Buy both watches and the immediate financial hit you take on the GMT is offset by the immediate gain you get on the Daytona.

If you don’t want the GMT and you flip it immediately, then you are affectively buying the Daytona at a grey price, but from an AD with your name on the card, and you’re starting a relationship for the future.

I’d consider it, but if make it very clear that I want to be considered a good and valued customer when it comes to jewellery purchases for my wife (my AD gives me good discounts on jewellery) and on future watch purchases (on the list for high demand, and good discounts on easy to get stock)

I find it curious that people believe that customers can pick and choose who they buy from to get the best deal for themselves, but AD’s shouldn’t pick and choose who they sell to in order to get the best deal for themselves.

Can you explain the Ferrari similarity?

I thought they had a prequalifying requirement then resale rules?

Where have you been hiding with these sensible replies?!

Seems fine to me ; nobody is forcing anybody to be a Rolex customer
