What's an Explorer 11?
I thought they stopped at II so far. Would that be an Explorer XI?

I was hoping for the Explorer 12 Mini as I think it would look better on my wrist.

I walked into my local AD to enquire about a polar Explorer II late last year.

I got told that they could add me to their ‘expression of interest’ list but added they had just put a pre-owned 5 digit in the window if I was interested.

I asked to hear more about it. They had just got it back from the RSC and showed me the paperwork and watch.

I walked out with said watch having paid, what I believe, was a fair price, certainly less than I had see elsewhere, and a bit less than list for the current model.

Moral of the story. Visit ADs and talk to them. Whilst some bite many more don’t.

The OP's question has already been answered, but I will chime in anyway since I have the Explorer I. I put myself on the "list" of my AD in Boulder, CO in March of 2019 thinking nothing would come out of that. I had no previous relationship with them. On February of 2020, they gave me a call saying that they had an Explorer I just come in and that I was next in line if I was still interested. I purchased it on the day of the call.

I've been waiting since July '19 with two local ADs. Admittedly, I did not stay in touch for much of that period, but have been in regular contact with them since August '20. In both cases, they have told me that while they have been receiving sporadic shipments of product, they have not been seeing Exp I's at all, and they are not sure why.

There is GMT but that's almost unattainable for average folk like myself.

And the Seamaster is a thrilling choice but you know that anyways. Its a forum favourite on many watch forums that I frequent.
The GMT would be a great option - I'd encourage you to try an OP41, I think they are 41 in name only if im honest, I tried one on and put it side by side with my 39mm Explorer and I could hardly tell the difference.
