Keep the Sub and save up for the 214270. I love mine. I get of watches and trade often but this one I’ll keep forever and pass it down to my with my daughter or son. GL

Just my two cents:

For me, the Explorer (especially the 214270) beats the sub any day of the week. It’s the absolute perfect watch from the Rolex stable in my book. I’d choose it every single time.

But... if I were in your shoes, there’d be no way in hell I’d sell it. Trust me on this: Sell IT and you’ll regret it, that’s guaranteed.

Why? Well, you have two options somewhere down the road:

Look at your wrist and see one of the most iconic watches Rolex ever made, the Explorer

Or

Look at you wrist and see one of the most iconic watches Rolex ever made, the sub. Not just any sub, no, the sub that belonged to your father, memories and all.

If I were in your shoes, there’d be no way in hell that that sub would leave me, unless it was to pass it on to my child.

Please, keep the sub. You’ll regret it if you let it go.

I would never think of selling a watch my father gifted me...

Although I own an Ex and admire it I also say PLEASE keep the Sub!
You will get your chance trying the Ex and if it sings to you these two will make for a wonderful combo

Take it from someone who's father left this world over a decade ago.

Do not even think about selling the submariner. Save your pennies and add an Explorer when you can. Then put the sub away someplace safe. Some day you will appreciate having something that was his that you can wear any time you want.

Keep the Sub ESPECIALLY if you father gave it to you.

Saved and added this one earlier this year,

You will appreciate having both. Be patient and save up. That’s what I did and now I’m content.
