233 on JV

Hi guys - got a call from OP that my order for the JV had arrived. I've been eagerly awaiting this for some time now.

Does any one know what the safest/best way to darken it and get some patina on it artificially?

Here's some (crappy iphone) pics.

Bryan - great combo!

I would think that natural skin oils imparted to the JV by rubbing it with your hands will darken it. It should darken up pretty quickly just by wearing it, however.

good luck, Jim

Water will darken it believe it or not. I used a really fine spray mister on mine along with just natural age.

Do NOT use any oils. It will REALLY darken it.

It looks great Brian. I have a JV on the way for my 351. The JV along with the Cashmere "Blackseal" strap are my two all time favorite OEM straps. Just let it age naturally. OEM straps are steep in price, but definitely worth it.

Looking forward to pics of your 351 on a JV.

The 233 on a JV looks sweet.

Thanks guys. Interesting thing is that Panerai (at least in HKG) have NOT increased the price on gators, but the calf straps have gone up by HKD$100 (about USD$15) recently.

I received my JV in the mail this morning. My crappy pics do not do justice for this amazing strap. It has to be the most amazing strap out there. It looks killer on my 351. It's such a nice strap that I am afraid to strap it on :)

Thanks Jay. It's mounted. I plan on straping it on this evening. The color and soft suede texture are so amazing. It's a work of art. Can't you tell that I am excited? :)

The JV looks amazing strapped on the 351 with Ti case, tobacco dial and gold hands. It's the perfect combo for me.

You've gotten me fired up to locate one for my 351.

I even printed out the picture above to show to my AD the next time I'm there.

Use water to spray it all over the strap evenly, and then use a piece of tissue paper and wipe it to one side over and over until the water dries up. Do this with just enough pressure.

Congrats dude! Isn't it just the most amazing strap. Mine is already getting a nice patina on it. I really dig the color and texture. I don't regret it for one bit. Enjoy yours and the 351!

Thanks. The JV has to be the best match for the 351. Well worth the price of admission. I don't know what else to say.

Hey Bill. Did you end up getting the black JV? It's quite a rarity here.
