While on the hunt for a batman, fell in love with this

Hello all,

I have wanted a batman for a long time, partly because i need the GMT functionality. And I am currently on the list for one with my AD.

On a parallel note, I have always respected JLC as a brand, and highly admired their movements and finishing. I also always knew that I’ll end up getting one some day. Recently I came across the sector dial collection and instantly fell in love with the master geographic. The functionality, sector dial, sub-dial, different shades of blue and the simplicity of use / read, all instantly clicked. My absolute favorite part is the glass back revealing the gorgeous movement.

A few months later, and it has made its way to my collection. Although I am still planning to get a batman, I have to say the JLC is more sophisticated and offers really good value considering the level of finishing and travel time functionality.

Congrats! Love JLC and enjoyed over an hour at their Vegas store. Heard their minute repeater! Great timepieces... and the Vegas staff was friendly and knowledgable.

Enjoy!

Love the JLC sector dial collection, they really hit it out of the park with those. It feels like JLC didn't market them well since it was a short production run but it would have been awesome if they made those a part of the regular line as an option to the polaris line which I still haven't warmed up to yet.

They do. Aaron's work is consistently outstanding, it's my 3rd strap from them.

Reverso is a timeless classic. The duoface day and night and the moonphase are my two favorites.

hahahaha although that is true to an extent -as I highlighted I'm still after a batman- I have to say it definitely temporarily appeased the itch

I agree. I feel they could have capitalized more on the sector. But I have to say JLC are doing an awesome job with their service and warranty; the 8 year warranty will definitely add value and improve resale value, their website is really neat and gives you service estimates after you register your watch. I called their CS line once to ask technical questions and I was highly impressed.

absolutely stunning couple (of watches). The geophysic's dial texture is very sexy. And the Master ultra thin moon was actually the original plan for me before I fell in love with the geographic haha. The moon, sunburst silver dial and super thinness are on another level. I might still get it some day. Enjoy in great health and love.

Congrats! Love the JLC limited run of sector dials. IMHO - the best looking round watches they’ve made in years. I would have picked up the chronograph version if it had a seconds subdial.

Quick question: I noticed the rotor is super loud whenever I move my hand. Do you guys know if JLC I known for that / or if your watches do the same?

So I have an update and unfortunately it's not a good one. So it turns out that my watch has a defect. The crown at 10 o'clock should rotate the cities both clockwise and counterclockwise. However in mine, it only goes counterclockwise, then when I try to go clockwise, it just unscrews the crown and it comes off. I came across another identical watch and the crown goes bidirectionally, as it should.

I bought the watch from my AD who's reputable, whom I trust and have done business with before. I am yet to contact my AD, but my question is: what should be my expectation? Repair vs complete swap since the watch is only a couple of weeks old?

Your input is appreciated. Thank you.

I would ask for a complete replacement. The servicing might take a pretty good amount and there are some not so good stories of members with jlc service centers in the US unfortunately.

Doesn't hurt to ask. I hope for the best for you!
