Here is my 994 c4s which is a totally different driving experience. Significantly slower, but extremely fun to drive. They make a wonderful pair.

You mean 993 C4S. Nice garage

Nice pair!!!

I agree with everything you said about the 997.1/2 GT3 comparison in stock form. One really can’t go wrong with either or any 911 in any generation for that matter. I remember my first 911 experience and that was in a 996 Carrera cabrio. It was a blast to drive and the dynamics were simply amazing.

Love the 996s. Theyre so small and svelte/light now too compared to the 991 - a nice "raw / pure" watercooled 911 :)

edit: my old 996 c4s! (didnt have a rolex at the time). i still miss that car - the c4s hit the perfect point of performance/cost; sometimes i wonder if my 991S is worth the premium over the c4s that I had just as much fun in!

Love the 996 C4S. Probably my favorite of the modern 911’s I have owned. It hits the sweet spot of comfort, size and performance.

It is certainly pretty tough.. they wear but usually don't blow up.. and is rebuildable.

Another cool thing about it is that the architecture has been around for a long time and is used on Porsche's racing platform (Cup cars), so a lot of parts are interchangeable. So when I dropped engine for the coolant fitting welding, I had the flywheel / clutch / ring gear / etc. replaced (while in there kind of deal) with parts from the 997.2 RS 4.0. And as it turned out, the lightweight flywheel actually has a 964 part #, as it was from the 964 Cup. (I think it weights in at only 8.2 lbs if I remember correctly)

The conservative part of me says go silver, black, or dark blue.

But then again, if you're going to get a Porsche why not a screaming loud color like yellow, guard's red, or the Miami blue?
If you're concerned about resale, stick with white, black, guards red, or silver.

When I sold my 997.2 GTS I was glad i had gotten silver (plus I loved the look).

If you don't care about resale and want some color, Porsche makes some amazing blues, including their new Miami Blue.

Go with what you like and enjoy the heck out of it instead of thinking selling before buying.

For best resale though, rare or flashy colors work best on rare models, say GT3s, RS models, etc. If you are going for a Carrera, S, or GTS then I recommend a more conservative color.

Note how the cabin is the exact Bluesy colour! Porsche call it Cobalt blue.

No Macans? :-)

Well, some would say this is not a "real" Porsche (especially since it's a base model Macan), but it definitely is more comfortable drive than the 1981 911SC I had. And the heater works, and... :-)

That is stunning! Always one of my favorites. I had a '91 928GT for several years and I've always loved the 944 and 928 models.
