My 1969 Tudor Oyster Prince Day+Date

I initially saw this watch on eBay and thought the auction price was very low so I scanned through the ad and quickly bid on it. I didn't discover until after I'd paid for the watch that the crown wouldn't screw in and that the day wasn't changing.

I got the watch and - sure enough - those were the problems.

I took it to my watch maker who did a complete overhaul on it including a few new parts and a few used ones like the crown, and I just got it back a week ago.

I figure it must have had these issues for a long time because the case shows some wear but the dial is very nice and so are the hands, though they show some patina.

I did get the watch back a few months ago but the day was not changing on certain days so it went back for more work.

Anyway... watch is functioning great now and is lovely. I've had 3 Oyster Prince Dates but never a Day+Date.

Here's a quick picture... these really are some of the most enjoyable watches out there.

(ok Dan P time to trot them out) Very nice, always good to see a new DD surface. Great watches, so few of them most people aren't aware of they exist.

Here's my '69 7020 TOG, same watch with a TOG bezel...
