You should be able to find a batnan around the 10-11k range.

Is the Batnan an older version?

You should try a few different options and see what turns you on. There are lots of shops in Manhattan that have enough preowned inventory to decide.

Put your name on a AD list for a Daytona and save up for it.

By the time you have enough saved up it would probably be time for you to get the call.

Best advice...get what YOU want even if the majority of the SSsportmodelaholics on here dont like it. If you want a TT DJ, get that, if you want a Sub, get that. If you want the pimped out animal print Daytona, DO IT!

So say I go in to a store like torneau or London jewlers, and I happen to stumble upon a Ss sub or ss gmt would they be likely to give me a small discount or would they not take less than full retail since they are a coveted item?

Or any advice on purchasing my 1st watch as far as how to go about it, not getting taken for an idiot for being young, or any other thought?

I’d think about your true reasons for wanting a Rolex....

tournaeu will barely even give you a discount on full PM pieces even if you push really hard

0% chance to get a discount on a SS model right now

Tourneau never really discounts even on run of the mill watches. High overhead for there locations. Best to buy from a small AD independently owned. Not sure what the AD gets off MSRP, 40% maybe. I know typical watches like Tags are 50and 5 off MSRP usually. Wait until the market tanks some more. Things will change. The party is over. Back in October of 2017 I bought 2 Rolex at the same time. My SS sub with date and my wife’s 41mm date just blue dial. Got close to 19%off cash OTD. I remember back then AD’ s were telling me subs were going to get scarce. I thought it was a sales pitch and had no idea it was true. Back then everyone had a sub for 10% off. That was typical discount. 25 years ago 25% discounts were not unheard of. 18 years ago my buddy got 20% off his sub , even had an orange second hand. Other buddy got 25%off his 2 tone date just, the typical wall streeters watch. Both of those AD’s are still around but lost their Rolex dealership as I contacted both when shopping for mine. History repeats itself. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

I agree on the five digit Sea Dweller; it would be a great choice. It is better than the sub as far as uniqueness. I always wanted one the whole time I owned Subs until I got one. Great watches!!! I ended up with a six digit however!!!

Pre owned Sub no date would be ideal. Goes with everything. Is an excellent tool watch too.
Good luck

Wait for the Batman and put your name on the list along with visiting them regularly. Would be pretty baller for the OP to get his fist Rolex with a Batman.

Which models do you want most? I'm sure some of us can steer you in the right direction on how to get it (or crush your dreams entirely).

I think the GMT 116710LN is the perfect watch, but you don't like it, so that's that.

I think the 116710LN is the way to go......

Personally I think the Sub is boring. Everyone and their brother has one (either real or fake). Only Rolex I ever had that I flipped. That being said, would not mind a Hulk....but only as a fourth watch.

Listening to what you are writing I hear that you want a BLNR, but would settle for a sub...

Wait for the one that you want! It will come, and it will be worth the wait! Do not settle for something else, and never pay over retail!

It sounds like you are working you tail off right now, between work and school! If you work hard, then you have to play hard. Make sure you are having fun, too!
