Incoming 16610LV Check

Hi all, just got hold of a M serial Sub LV I always wanted from a brick and mortar dealer that I have purchased from before. I’m 99% sure all is ok but would obviously like the blessing from the experts here too. Only thing putting me off is the bracelet code doesn’t match the clasp code (PJ vs EO off by 1 year only though?). I read that a lot of high end bracelet replicas are EO codes.

I’m also not an expert on the LV bezel.

Thanks in advance!

Can we see photos of the movement? Especially the balance. Externally it can be nearly impossible to authenticate.

My main concern is the bracelet tbh and maybe the bezel if it was ever swapped etc. Regards to the actual watch head, I don’t have any doubts really.

Are you trying to confirm if this watch was born an LV or if the bezel is a genuine Rolex part?

I just checked my M6-serial 16610LV. Mine has a PJ4 clasp code, and the SEL has “PJ” engraved.

Yours is a PJ1 clasp code, and while the SELs have EO engraved that could be a result of the timing. PJ1 would have been the first clasps as they were transitioning from EO. As Rolex, particularly in that era, would tend to “bin” components, I would not worry about it.

The rest of the watch looks good to me from the pics. However, if you want to deep-dive I recommend this website as a great guide to the many 16610LV variations.

Having an unfortunate experience with a knock off bracelet in the past, I can say with 100% yours looks nothing like the fake I had to return.

The engravings look deep and precise and the polished areas look fantastic as well.

This opinion comes off one bad experience and I would never call myself an expert but to me it looks good!

Also, you’ve got the maxi dial there so that likely indicates it was “born an LV” as another member called it :)

No doubt about the head IMO, but I’m more concerned about the clasp.

You have a nice example of an M serial with a mark 7 dial, and January 2008 dated bracelet. Bezel, dial, and bracelet are period correct for an M serial LV. Enjoy your watch.

Incoming 16610LV Check

Forgot to mention the card does list this as sold in March 2008 so that matches too. Thanks all, I’m really happy with the purchase, took a long time hunting this one!

My 16610V M is dated Jan 2008 - and clasp code is EO7. Yours looks just like mine best I can tell - maxi dial etc (not an expert though)

Yes, serial on rehaut, between lugs, card and original sales receipt all match! I’m just afraid the bracelet might have been swapped for a none genuine but all the others above seem to have confirm A ok

Was actually bought in Switzerland and the warranty card does have the reference as “16610LV”.
