So i finally got one!

The 5513 I've been looking so hard to find. A maxi mk1. The only thing is, the case is a little thin for my taste... but the dial and hands!! Wuff! I don't know what to do, keep it in spite of the case, or sell and keep looking for that magically perfect example... I think for now I might just hold on to it until I find one I consider perfect. What would you guys do?

I'm not seeing the "little thin" part of the equation. Looks very nice for a 5513 that is over 35-years-old.

Thanks... maybe I'm just being super picky? Heres a photo that shows the thin part a bit more...

Yeah, it's a beauty, nice mellow yellow hands and dial.
As far as the case goes, I wouldn't sweat it.
Imperfections lend character, embracing them is the way to go.

Enjoy,
-GW

Wow! You sure work fast! Glad you got one! I think it looks great. I'd keep it. Every vintage watch is a trade-off, remember. A museum quality piece has a museum quality price tag. Plus Springer has spoken, you can't argue with that! Wear this in good health, my friend!

I really don't see the thin part your talking about. The patina on the dial and matching hands are gorgeous

Thanks everyone for your input! Nice to get such good feedback on the find! Perhaps I'll end up holding on to this after all... Though, I think I need to find it a proper t19 superdome! :)

Send it off to ABC. After a reprofiled t19 and small case touch up, it'll be like a new watch.

That was exactly my plan regarding the case! Still, if I can source an original t19...

It's a great watch. Keep it and get that reprofiled crystal.

Obviously the case has changed a little since brand new, but that's part of it. Appreciate the face that you own it, it has a nice case, and that it has great patina!

A vintage watch is the sum of its parts.

That is a beauty.
