Hard to say whether it is limited supply or a general preference for the watch. I remember when it was originally shown I was in favor of it and I think my post history will back this up :)

Interesting article. Patek is probably limiting the supply. If they flood the market like with many of their other references, secondary market prices will tank and demand will disappear.

I think they underestimated demand and only did a production run of a smaller number of cases. No point doing 10000 and they sit on shelves!! You may find tat when the production run comes around again they push this up....depending on which side of the fence you are...I really hope they keep production down!

mmmmmmm.....it would be indiscrete of me to mention that two TRFer Trusted Sellers have approached me alone this month to buy mine...if they read this and feel comfortable to corroberate the story that would help...they will only buy if they thought they could move them...personally I am indifferent as to peoples opinions on them...TS said he only thought 50% would be happy...18 available on chrono24 starting at $50k....but not sure what US retail is ....but its CHF 42000 in the Swiss Price List. Cheers

Yes sorry was a bit ambigious. Showing that the 5524 is actually CHF 3000 cheaper than the 5164R. Lots of outcry as to whether it was correctly priced. Its larger 42 x 10.78 versus 40.8 x 10.2 but obviously less WR. Definately feels heavier. You will get those that like the Aquanaut and others that prefer 5524 / IWC / Zenith or whatever...

I've loved he 5524 since it was released and kick myself daily when my ad offered it to me and I turned it down last year. I have one on order now and will hopefully get one by the end of the year.

I actually passed on this one when offered to me. It just looks a bit ordinary for a patek imho. I'm sure there's a market for them tho and I'm glad they are taking chances and doing interesting new pieces

Had the pleasure to try it on,

It is a great looking watch and definitely something I would like to own.

I believe many just haven't had a chance to consider it yet.

The article was written in Singapore and you have to read an article with regards to who wrote it and who the target audience was/is.

The SG watch market is quite different from other Asians markets as well as the European/American market.

I don't know what the current supply/demand is for the 5524 in Singapore, but I am sure it is different from the US/UK/EU/HK/ME/etc.
