Patek Aquanaut 5167 by selling 2 Rolexes
I have a Stainless Steel Ceramic Daytona Black brand new with tags and Datejust II with diamond dial stainless steel. I really want a Patek 5167, do you think it's worth selling both of the watches to get into 5167 as a daily wearer and maybe get an extra $6-7k back when everything is said and done? I just want one watch and I love the Patek 5167. Let me know your thoughts.

I think the aquanaut is an ideal watch if you only want 1 piece

What about Vacheron Constantin Quai de Il 4500s. That watch looks amazing but I guess Patek 5167 is just cool right?

Go for it. I just traded 3 watches for a Calatrava. Was not wearing them.

Hmm...I take it you aren't attached at all to the Daytona or DJ? Then why not.
Personally I prefer the 116500 to the 5167 but i would wait until after Basel this weekend and see if we get any updates for the 20th anniversary (Long shot but still). Aquanaut is a very cool piece so I can't fault you for doing so. I'll add one back as soon as it's updated. |

I'd sell those 2 for a 5167.

The Aquanaut is nice, but it might not be as versatile as your Rolexes?

I´d do it. The 5167 can easily be your only watch.

I'd get rid of the Datejust, and find a way to have both the Daytona and 5167. You should have 1 ss Rolex in your collection, and those 2 would be a fantastic combination.

I bought one yesterday after trying it on in a boutique. Amazing watch, I love it. Along with my 16610, it's the most versatile watch in my collection as well as being my first Patek Philippe.
Go for it, you won't regret it, just make sure you haggle hard for a good deal. |

The 5167 is the most comfortable watch I've ever had the pleasure of wearing... It's kinda a do anything watch too! Handles the pool, a suit, a casual weekend etc.. It's under the radar, so you can pretty much wear it anywhere unnoticed (except by those you would want to even notice - fellow WIS!) .... I'd sell the ceramic for the profit and get the 5167 all day long IMO.
Dang.. Now I regret selling my 5167 :(

What are you going to do when the 5167 goes in for service?

Think that's a great idea. While I think having a few Rolex might be more versatile, take advantage of the premium on the Daytona.

I would do it for a 5711, not for an Aquanaut, and I have one...

I won't do it but then, I don't really like the 5167. Go for it if this is what you like. Only you can decide for yourself.

I would keep the Daytona, skip the aqua and keep looking.
The aquanaut can be a bit underwhelming, if you trade those away you won't be able to take it back. Ps the new Daytona C and used aqua should be very close in price straight up. Pps. Also agree with Aranud, I would strongly consider it for a 5711.

Great shot ^
Im thinking of selling a Daytona 116520 and an Omega SPECTRE Seamaster for a 5167 (already on waitlist for 5711 blue dial after selling 3 Rolex to fund it) |
