Advice on a trade

Hi
I am offered a 5110 against a full set blnr, a 16660 and a sub lv y serie , these 3 watches in great condition.
Your opinion on this trade?
Thanks.

a 5110 you can have it for $24k (even less) , an early LV with flat four is at least $14k (but I wouldn t sell on this price) i doubt you want this trade.

The lv is not full set ( box and goodies , no original papers but serviced by Rolex )
So I think it is much less valued.
Thanks for your advice

Not a good trade imho. Was the 5110 just serviced? All box, original papers, etc? Be careful and don't chance it on a Patek that has not been serviced recently.

BTW the 5110 was about $12k with normal Patel discount in YG years ago. The RG that was here was $12.5k as i recall.

No way. The 3 watches you have depending on condition, etc are worth more than what you are getting in a 5110J. The Y series Fat Four LV is not one I would sell much less include in this deal.

With a watch trade/purchase like this, I would consider the following questions:

1) Do you want an elegant dress watch? I assume the answer is yes.
2) Do you want to get a Patek WT? I assume the answer is also yes.
3) Do you have any reservations about letting go of any of your 3 Rolex Sports watches?
4) Do you have another sports watch you can wear?
5) If you don't like the Patek 5110 and want/need to sell it, are you will to take a hit on re-sale value (more than what you would take on the 3 Rolex watches)? Re-sale value will depend on the market at the time of sale/trade, but there is a greater variation in Patek watch re-sale value vs SS Rolex sports watches.
6) If the Patek 5110 needs servicing, are you ok with the expense and time it takes to get it serviced? The 5110 reference was discontinued 10-11 years ago, so depending on the watch condition, it may or may not need a servicing.

Best of luck in your decision! I think a Patek world timer is a wonderful watch and a very elegant dress watch

The bigger problem is if he's letting go 3 sport watches for 1 dress watch wouldn't he prefer clearly getting 1 PP Sport watch, like a 5711 or 5712? I would imagine that a dress watch isn't really what he would prefer, might be wrong but think not...
