Icon11 "Painted" straps....durable?

i've seen a number of painted straps that look pretty awesome, but, i don't know much about the painting process.

is it simply leather that's been painted?

if so, is it durable? or, with wear, will the paint chip and crack? something tells me this type of strap will look beat up much sooner than your regular leather strap.

I will be able to tell you soon enough. While i dont have one yet....I can tell you some makers literally paint them and some get ammo pouches that were painted way back in the day to protect the leather from the elements. Those are the good ones I hear. I'll be able to comment more later today I hope!

Cru, I didn't notice any differences on the aging process of my kev's French painted ammo from my other "good" straps. I wear them in the normal rotation.

Here are the pics brand new

after 3 months

and today
