wrist size vs strap size
Hello mates,
Just want to get some feedback and your experience before I order a custom strap: I have a 7" wrist and thinking to order 140/80 ammo strap. I wear regular size OEM straps on the third last hole. Do you think 140/80 is not too long to have a little tail showing or should I go for 135/75 length? thanks |

depends on the thickness of the strap and the look you are going for.
maybe the strap maker can estimate how much tail you will have with either option? |

Straps are an incredible personal thing. You just need to try some things out and make a determination of what you want to do.
For me with a 6.5" wrist, that would be too short for a "vintage" style. For you it might be perfect. There is no right answer here except for what you learn you'll like.

my personal experience with straps is that:
"you learn through experience" "each strap has a different requirement to fit your wrist" here is a tip sketch the measurement you want on your strap and send it to the strap maker. |

Quite so. Work with the strap maker for the result you want. I would also add that it's better to err on the long side (in terms of tail) - slightly too long can be lived with, unlike too short

I hate to say it, but you'll likely spend a bit of cash figuring out what you like. It took me a while to find the right strapmakers and size. For me, the money size is 4.5mm thick, 145/85. I have 7.25" wrists.
Good luck!

I've been considering the same question!
I don't have an ammo yet, but want to get one. I've been worried the "standard" size of 140/80 with thickness of 3.5 to 4mm thick would be too long and bulky for my 7" wrist as well. Open to hearing more on this as well!
