1964 Tudor Submariner 7928 Silver Print, Gilt Chapter Dial
Might as well throw up some info on 7928s for the record. Here is a 1964 Tudor Submariner 7928 Silver Print, Gilt Chapter Dial, Tritium Hands, Original Long 5 MK2 Insert and Original Guarantee Papers I purchased from the original owner 4 years ago.
Specifics: Dial: Original T SWISS T Rose dial, Silver Print, Gilt Track, and with Original Lume that does glow briefly when exposed to Sun/UV. Some discoloration on the dial, awesome plots, looks fantastic in the sun. (SWISS only dials are 59-63) Hands: These were NOS Tudor 7928 replacement hands with Small Sweep (correct for 64-66) but are correct with what originally came on the watch. Original Lume intact, brief glow at lower intensity when exposed to Sun/UV. Radiation: Barely reads (0.08) beyond background levels (0.07) on my Radex meter. (something to keep in mind ; ) ) 7mm No Dot Crown Case: Rounded Crown Guard as how it appeared in 1964 after transition from Pointed Crown Guard. Excellent example of the shape, wide chamfers, appropriately worn. Serial: 433,XXX – Serial and Ref very legible. Caseback: stamped 7928 III.64 Bezel and Insert: Original Black MK2 Long 5 Insert Movement: 390 Movement. The sharp eye will realize that the Rhodium 390s have several iterations of engravings on back. Papers: The watch has the original Guarantee Paper from when purchased on Jersey Isle in 1965. The Box is correct for the time but was not original to the watch. When purchased from original owner (mining consultant) there was a film of clay / moisture on the dial that came from a cracked crystal. The original owner purchased the watch from the AD on the Channel Island of Jersey while on Holiday and wore it for the next 30 years while consulting on various mining projects, particularly in the Pacific.

Congratulation, beautiful watch, with the plus of the guarantee and the nice story from the original owner.
I have a close "relative", a 7928 with serial 449xxx IMG_8717.jpg |

Such a nice watch. The age on the dial, and the case is amazing. This is what a legit vintage Rolex is supposed to look like.

Thanks - and to be clear, I did not buy it - I have it listed for sale here and elsewhere. As I took a bunch of photos to list it and added description, I felt it was a good opportunity to recomplile this in a descriptive post here for future reference on a 64 7928.
This is the second iteration of the 1964 style, the first (see Borango's above) could have an underline dial, the Skinny 40 Insert, and some would be SWISS only rather than T SWISS T. Interesting that both of these early Rounded Crown Guard variants from 1964 could be 433K serials with III.64 casebacks. My focus is Tudors and my collecting goal is to have all of them (still need a 7923) but I do have Each crown / guard style (Small/Big Crown, Eagle Beak, Square Pointed, Rounded, Semi Pointed, etc)
