Fake Boxer Time LLC
I recently posted that I am looking to buy a Roger Dubuis Hommage H40 Chronograph.
I subsequently received a PM from "allangrant02", recommending that I email: briboxerwatches@gmail.com Eventually, I got a raft of emails from someone impersonating Boxer Time LLC. This scam attempt was pretty elaborate in that all emails were spelled correctly and they also provided me with numerous pictures and a video of a Hommage H40. Fortunately, I exchanged PMs with the real Briboxer here on the forum and he confirmed that I was not dealing with him and that this was obviously a scam. Very annoying. My thanks to the real Briboxer in helping me sort this one out. |

Did you click the report button in the PM window or contact a mod, so no one else would get scammed?

I was unfamiliar with the reporting system. I have reported the PM now.
Thanks |

This occurs quite regularly when someone posts a want to buy ad.
Scammers lie in wait to read those, then respond with their scam. ALWAYS have to be careful with those ads - it can quickly turn into a real minefield.

Not sure how the email could be correct and go to the scammer, assuming his email was not hacked and put to use by scammers.

I am contacted weekly regarding the bogus connections to my company "Boxer Time, LLC", and my user id on this forum "briboxer". The only email I use starts with my name "Brian". Furthermore, my phone number is area specific to Orange County, California. I don't use any other prefix than "949".
I have stated before that Face Book groups seem to be ripe with scammers, hoping to tie in with someone with a reputation, or name that may be recognized. I am relieved when someone reaches out to confirm a few things with me, and I can help steer them away from fraudulent attempts. |
