Icon4 New scam alert

Hey guys,

New here but I already bought a watch from a great dealer named Manuel at "Plus-ultra" recommended by Ben from Watch Brothers London.

Other than that I have had HUGE amount of scams attempt.

The latest was this guy who actually built his profile posts and history just to look more credible but then when you look at the history closely it's all him replying to his own post.

He requested I wire the money to send the watch. When I did a quick image search the image came up from a dealer who sold the watch a long time ago ( Classic scam move).

Then my favorite...He can not Facetime because he's an old man. When I ask for a photo of the watch next to a compute with today's date... He disappeared.

Please be safe out there it's a scammy scammy world

I thought the latest scam was these stores that look like they sell Rolex watches but they actually don’t have any. So they trick you into leaving your personal details on a list…then you get calls about an extended car warranty for the rest of your life

Good thing you figured out the scammer.

Are you talking about a TRF scam?
And if so, did you report it to Mods?

Was that WTB listing of yours the target of the scamming?

How does everyone execute their deals here to make sure neither party is scamming.

Post 3 on that thread says mods were quick to ban the scammers.

Yep - I was interested if there were other scammers plying their trade randomly. I expect WTB’s to draw scammers like bears to honeypots.

Oh, for sure. I’m curious how many of that exact watch are out there waiting to be sold at the time op wanted it. It’s certainly not like putting a WTB ad out for a new black sub or something.
