Help Me Identify this Rolex
All, my great uncle who unfortunately passed away years ago was said to have owned a Rolex. In his later years he confirmed that he owned a Rolex but lost it during a move.
He is pictured here wearing a watch that appears to me, to have a Rolex Oyster bracelet? However I don’t recognize that cushion case shape. Is this watch a Rolex, and if so, which model? This picture was probably taken in the 1960’s or so. Thanks in advance. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Love the post OP.
A quick Google search led me to "Rolex date 1500" Please check it out, it could be the one. Looks very similar since I can see the cyclops (maybe?) in the picture |

The case almost looks bubbleback to me in shape

I also think that I see a date magnifier. Also, I'm noting an oyster bracelet with curved end-links. So overall, it seems more like an Oyster Date than a bubbleback IMO.

Hmm. I'm seeing some kind of outer ring on the dial. I don't think it's a standard 1500.
Could it be something like this on an Oyster bracelet? The OP's pic doesn't have the number markers at 6/9/12, but there were lots of marker variants on these Tudors. |
