So my question is, does anybody know of anybody that has actually paid that much?
I can almost guarantee people are paying that, otherwise it wouldn't be the price. I don't know anybody personally, but I know the market.

Luckily, for me, the blue dial is the one.

Myself, I'm not a fan of the meteorite dial but one must assume people are paying the prices listed or close since all of the trusted and less known sellers are in the same range.

I am looking at discontinuing of this model.
Rolex cannot keep making meteorite dials. Short supply.

Rolex can and will create more meteorite dials because they do in fact have plenty of the material. Why would they reintroduce a Daytona with meteorite if they were running out? This forum has become a FOMO forum for the greys and people that benefit from the greys. Agree it is a special watch, but to say that it’s better or somehow worthy of being more than another high currency reference is crazy and simply one’s opinion.

Gibeon is in fact in very limited supply currently due to the markedly increased demand given its stability, unlike most other meteorites. Also, the strewn field in Namibia is now protected and has been for quite awhile now. Just try and search for whole specimen Gibeon meteorites and see for yourself. By the way, how many of the new meteorite Daytonas have you seen? Not many….

This . The uniqueness of each dial is part of the desirability.

I bought this reference on the grey market-and am quite happy I did so. I highly doubt I’d have secured it from an AD. It is, without a doubt, my favorite piece.

These did seem to slow down this summer and could be had in the low $60s. Recently I’ve seen a couple sell at $70k to $72k so they’re gaining steam.

This is one that I think is probably justified at current premiums. It truly is impossible to get at retail. I just don’t see it falling too much and if it’s discontinued at any point while we’re in a hot market, I can see it encroaching on $85k+.

Just received mine from AD today. It is my grail watch…i fell in love with it when i first saw photos but in person it’s just spectacular. Photos and videos do not do this piece justice. This is a lifetime keeper of mine

Wow - some absolutely stunning shots.

This piece is really sparking my interest. I’m going to go in and have a chat with my AD and see just how hard it is - I know it’s hard but have had luck in the past. I’m patient and loyal when it comes to the process.

Truly stunning piece, I've had one on my wrist at a Rolex event but not had to opportunity to buy one at MRSP yet. I would not personally pay grey prices, but it's an individual choice and if people decide they are happy with the deal then that's their decision and I respect that.

I traded into this one recently at gray price and couldn’t be happier. FYI I scoured the market before I pulled the trigger and they’re running pretty true to 70k mark give or take a few K depending on model year condition etc. I do have a good relationship with my ad and requested this piece when it was first released in 2019 but no luck and I watched it go from 45-70+ on the gray market while I waited. I personally believe it’s a much more special watch than a lot of if not all of the “hype” Rolex pieces and don’t regret the purchase for a second, it’s gorgeous in the metal meteorite dial is truly a thing of beauty.

May I ask what you traded for this piece?

I'm an outlier. Bought it and five months later sold it. Didn't speak to me. I'd reach for my ss Pepsi more often.

The 20k seems worth it for a meteorite dial over the blue, compared to the difference between the Olive & Sundust 228235, that's one I can't understand!

Ummm… that’s the deal of the century. Amazed a grey would do that deal -

That’s a watch that just cracked $40k recently. These meteorites haven’t been anywhere near that minus buying one at MSRP from an AD for some time now.

Goodness, if you’re serious that’s incredible lol. That dealer must be gambling if they’re going to discontinue the turquoise dial in March. I would do that deal every day of the week and twice on Sundays.

They are not black. Sometimes they look that way but they can be tough to read. As stated above, I sold mine because it just didn't resonate with me.

Congratulations on the gmt! If that trade is true, that’s unbelievable. I don’t know a single grey dealer who’d make that trade deal.
