Looks like i can get this one at a steal.. The guy lives about an hour from me and after speaking with him said he would meet me at a jewler of my choice what would you do?

IMHO, $2000 is an average price for a datejust with the previous case and bracelet. I think there are some deals out there for $1500 on the same model, perhaps even less. Rolex sold many, many Datejusts that looked like that. With the economy going from bad to worse, I say wait a little. A better deal is on the horizon. Im thinking that we may see lots of those up for sale in the $1000 range, just a gut feeling.

Hi Chris - On the surface that looks like a good price to me BUT

Firstly It has no box or papers
Secondly it was bought in 2001 and there is no mention of a service since then.
So you should factor both of these into the price too

If you really like it, check it out first.
The bracelet is kind of loose from the photo but you need to check it closely and if he just bought it from Mayor in 2001, what happened to box and paper? I think it should sell for 2K or under without those.
