Patek 5167R or AP 15400OR BLUE

What do you guys think? was looking at grabbing an ap 15400or blue dial with full bracelet but have been peeking at the rose gold aquanaut with rubber strap as well. Would love to get one of these in the near future. I have an ap so know the bracelet is amazing and can't imagine what the gold would feel like

Agree, the 5711R gives it a good run but not the Aqua.

Could not agree more. I still don't know which of the two I like best, both are glorious.

AP 15400OR Hands Down. I would 100x rather have the AP bracelet in gold than the Patek rubber especially on a piece of this caliber, you have the bracelet so you know.

5711R vs AP 15400OR is a more fair comparison and would be a very tough decision for me.

Looks like its unanimous, its always been my next major watch but i just get this creeping pressure that i should buy/add a sport patek to my collection before these crazy resale prices for the sport models make it unattainable.

Thanks for everyone's help ---> i gotta go with my heart rather then the hype and fear of being priced out.

Great choice, and don't be afraid of missing out, sport Pateks won't stay like this forever. Sure, these brands will do a good job of protecting the brand and creating limited allocations, but it won't stay this way like it is in the current market. Not too long ago people forget most sports pieces were attainable. When I was considering a sports Patek, Nautilus (5711) was an order away with a very short wait for delivery time, even shorter wait for white dial and Aquanauts were sitting in the display cases. I actually remember the bracelet Aquanaut and the 5712 were the hardest to get from what I had inquired about.

Aqua in Rose should have better future availability than SS I would expect.

But in general the Royal Oak case and especially bracelet has so much more going on for it than the Aquanaut series.

Another vote for the 15400OR

15400R is incredible! I would definitely choose over the aqua. However, the 5711r, that’s my favorite.

I dont think its a fair comparison, that 15400OR is amazing! Perhaps a 5164R is a slightly better opponent? ANd I agree that the 5711R is the best competitor but different price points at market value, unless you're getting both from an AD.

I would go with the 15400or. Now it's a different story if you mentioned 5711 or 5712. GL!

I’m pondering this same issue. I worry I should get a Patek, but there is no denying the AP is amazing. Keep us posted.

I know ppl mean well, but he is comparing the 5167r and the 15400or. Including the 5711r is in a different spectrum financially, so it isn’t a good comparison from that standpoint. I’m not sure if he has a budget, but the 5167r in the secondary market seems to be around 38k-40k, the 15400or around 43k-45k, which are close in terms of pricing. The 5711r has been going for around 68k-70k on the secondary market. So while from a visual standpoint the 15400or and 5711r look similar, they are pretty far apart in pricing.

If pricing isn’t an issue, then this analysis can be disregarded. Also, if purchasing new at msrp, then the price gaps change a little as well, but I think a similar argument could still be made there as well. For me personally, I’m not sure what I’ll land on, as I don’t have a concrete budget, however, I think these issues at least deserve a moment of consideration.

Just my 2 cents
