Rolex Service Authorization questions

Sent my 16570 in a couple weeks ago and finally got the "estimate" from Rolex. There are two sections, "required service" and "recommended service." The required part is regarding the movement (why I sent it in), the recommended is cosmetic (replacement of dial, hands).

1. Under the service warranty, "check movement" will happen at no charge; can I assume/is there a way to confirm that the 3186 "upgrade" will be performed as part of this (chief complaint was loose jumping hour hand)?

2. Will Rolex be willing to repair/replace a single lume indicator without replacing the dial? One of mine is chipped noticeably (probably during previous service; only time watch ever opened) and I wouldn't mind having that fixed, but I don't want to swap out dial or hands.

They will replace, they don’t repair. It’s not time/cost efficient to do so.

I think you will enjoy your new dial once you see it.

So would that include popping off one of the WG indices and popping on a new one, or is anything regarding the dial all-or-nothing?

Not at $500+ for that alone! At that cost, I'll deal with the little chip.

Ask them but get your answer back in writing and be sure before they do work.

The hour hand has some significant play due to the design, if it doesn't work anymore the spring is broken.
You will get the updated spring and GMT wheel anyway, which will prevent it from breaking again (can still happen but is extremely unlikely).

As for the dial, they will not repair the dial in any way.

The attached picture shows the old spring compared to the larger updated spring.
