The dial looks pretty cool, but it's not for me. For some reason I just prefer Subs in SS. I like Daytonas and GMTs in SS and PM though. I can be a little quirky sometimes.

I can see me wearing that at the local bar; I'd need to be wearing white gloves and a pillbox hat with a veil on it as well. Really nowhere on earth I'd feel comfortable with it on my wrist. That leaves one place. It might work well diving underwater. That's what a sub is meant for isn't it? Does it come with the sub clasp?

I guess black gloves could work too.

or just a good dive outfit.

Rolex could have saved a couple of quid and not bothered putting any water tight gaskets in that thing!

Lets be honest, its never going to get even remotely damp, never mind think about going down to 300m's....lol.

Not that my humble 116610LN will ever go to 300m but at least it will get a dip in the pool & a splash in the sea now and again.

That Sub is the equivalent of a French Poodle.. looks pretty, but useless for anything else.

I just looked again and noticed there's no depth rating!

Maybe Rolex did do what I suggested above and saved a few quid by omitting the water tight gaskets...

If I had the money to burn, sure, why not? Of course, it would need to come with a few red carpet invitations to ever ever see wrist time outside the house. Otherwise, I think it is very tasteful bling, compared to much of the over the top aftermarket encrusted Rolex, if you're into that.

I have seen pictures of that Sub on Rolex Passion Report during or after Basel.

http://rolexpassionreport.com/25820/...ex-collection/

Odd that there is no depth rating indeed.

The only thing i like on that Sub is the blue sunburst dial. It looks pretty similar to the 116613LB or the 116618LB except the font is white.

I wish one day Rolex manufactures a SS or a grey gold Sub with that dial, a blue bezel and the 3235 caliber. I would buy it immediately.

People struggle with diamonds on a dj for men... this I’d assume be a definite no. At least for guys. When the wife saw the pic of the ruby Daytona. She was like what’s that in a curious. I want that way...so maybe for ladies?

I'll say "partly", because the dial with blue sunburst AND non-yellow gold markers are all nice heads-up for the SS Submariner in 2019.

Is that the same blue dial color as the one on the new WG gmt BLRO ?

Or is that a sunburst dial ?

Hard to tell in the pic...
