Agree with the others who put family, love and health first. As a collector of many things over the years (cameras, audio, baseball cards, cars, etc.) my favorite collectibles are vintage pinball machines and arcade games. I have had over 100 over the years, now down to 40, but only a handful are of serious grail interest to other collectors.
Be well, stay healthy, tell your family that you love them.

That's why these type of threads struggle. They get diluted.

Of course health and family come first...of course they do..

Not what OP asked.

It's almost like we should be "guilty" for having interest in material things...

House and Cars are next for me. Then collectibles like coins and others. I want it to be stereo equipment next....

Then there is the stuff than cannot be mentioned.

Talking purely material ITEMS, which some seem to not get...one reason I don't peruse this site so much anymore... far too much preaching going on.. heck we're all materialistic pigs by most standards. Rant over. Now, to the OP's question....I'd rank my motorcycle(KTM 1290 SAR) as my most enjoyable item (2 hours of off roading is unbeatable...), then car (2015 Z/28), then watches(116520 & 116515LN). However, since I can wear my watches everywhere and anywhere I probable get maximum enjoyment from them. I don't own a home so it's not on my list.

Balance on bank account. Means I‘m not dependent on the company I work for, any bank or lender. This freedom is probably the reason, why I‘m doing well professionally.

Probably my humble house because it provides a home for my family, and my young children absolutely love it and find security in it.

Hey Brian, what's that yellow thing painting the sky in all those colours? Lovely set up you guys have.

Fine watches and fine dining are my top two hobbies

The obvious disclaimer as stated by others is that health, family, etc. are the most important things in life, but the question was specifically about material items.

For me a serious contender with my passion for watches would be genuine antique Japanese swords. There's just something awe inspiring about holding a 500 year old blade that is not only a functional deadly weapon, but also a finely and lovingly crafted work of art with its beautiful transition from hard to soft steel and the tiny martensite crystals which form in the hamon (temper line) during the quenching process and glitter like jewels under a loupe, the carefully formed hada or wood-grain like pattern in the steel which comes from the repeated folding of the the metal onto itself during the forging process to drive out impurities from the rough raw material, and the flawless geometry which is imparted by the final act of polishing. It's humbling to be the Patek-esque caretaker for an item with so much history attached to it, something that was already a couple centuries old when the colonies were fighting for their independence, something which was likely the single most prized and cared for material possession belonging to several generations of actual Samurai before ending up in my safe.

Hello FL,
Indeed, I can generally fix and restore them, 'tho I may need the expertise of an experienced local hobbyist to help me with something really vexing. Fortunately for this hobby, working on these older EMs (electro-mechanical) devices isn't too taxing and with readily available parts and several forums of avid enthusiasts who are expert, getting technical advice is easy. Several clubs and get-togethers, also, provides ample local friends ready to jump in, play and help one another with their restorations.

I don't want to hijack this thread and encourage you or anyone to PM for additional chat about pinballs. Very interesting, though, is that one of my machines has "your name" on it. 1940 Bally Fleet.

Have a great weekend!

100% my cars.

I get a lot of joy from my watches. But I’m passionate about my cars.

No comparison for me.

My bicycles which are the vehicles to let me see the world and really live, don't really care much for the watches which are just status symbol materials. Iphone pics:

Watches probably rank 7th or 8th on the list.

Sort of humbling to think about. Ive never cared too much about getting attached to items but my plane is my most materialistic possession and by far the most fun. Beach house is second and Rolexes last and least important to me. Everything else I own is practical. My house and cars are what Id consider ordinary and everyday, heck I drive a pick up truck.

For personal stuff aside from house, etc....

My cherished collection of vintage and antique straights razors, rare stones for their maintenance, and some other memorabilia.

Here's one of the cooler, rarer straight razors out of New York City, circa 1930's.....love the little Grim Reaper in brass inlays, they don't make stuff like they used to...:-)

I agree wholeheartedly. Plane >>>>>> Rolexes. Heck, even model planes > Rolexes.

Purchased or been given? Wedding ring and then the watches. Of course, I value my residence, needing a roof over our heads is a given... has to be done. I can live anywhere, and where I go, so do the watches!

Making music is important to me, so I would say my acoustic and electric guitars are #1. I have a number of wonderful Martin, Fender and Gibson guitars which have brought me pleasure for many years both alone and with friends. My interest in Rolex is only a relatively new hobby within the past decade. Cheers!

For me, besides my house, my LVc is probably my single most cherished material thing I care about. My dad has a 1968 Pepsi GMT that will be willed to me some day (hopefully no time soon!) that may replace the LVc in significance.

Please note, I'm not including any faith-based or family-based intangible "things" in my response.
Interesting question. Forget my condo, watches, vintage *and very pricy* keyboard / synth collection - my cherished items are three photos:
A pic of my father from when he was about 7 years old.
A autographed publicity photo of a Keyboardist named Kieth Emerson. *we hung out on the 92 tour*. He was my favourite composer.
An autographed Photo of comedian Phil Hartman. Sent after we met on a project and was murdered not long after. One of the nicest people you could ever meet. A super talent as well.

I worked in the film / T.V. biz for 25 years so meeting / working with celebs was no big deal. Spending time with two heroes, plus my father who I consider a Super-Hero are my most important treasures. Plus, they have all passed away - that's a reason to cherish them even more.

Mark
