[HELP] Before buying GMT from US
Hello guys,
I'll try to be sharp and quick in my description. I am in contact with a guy from Texas, US (I'm from Switzerland) who sell a 16710. He's nickname is GhentWatch. When I look on the internet, GhentWatch is from Belgium [just sent an PM to him on TRF] not from Texas US. Then, in different websites (which I didn't knew the existence) I've found some good comment on him (link), and some bad comment on him (link). The more interesting is that when negotiating price to the watch, I cut 10% off (from an already cheap price) without any negotiation... So I am a little bit concerned. Now, if it is ok, and if the guy is good, it will be the first time that I'll buy a watch from the US without chrono24. What is the best way to proceed ? Any advice ? Thank for your help. |

There are literally 100's of posts here that say the same thing: If in doubt, don't do it. You have to be 100% sure of the seller. Don't let a good price trick you into taking a risk.
So far you have 3 red flags: Belgium/Texas, some bad comment, and a cheap price that was easily made "cheaper". |

Chronotrader is a huge red flag. No end to the scam ads on that site.

Just by asking you already answered your own concerns
Walk away! Regarding good reviews and comments, look it up on YouTube and you will how easy and quick it is to built a reputation online I bought my watches from reputable sellers here on this site. I didn’t even join the forum until recently. I rather spend the extra $ and keep my piece of mind |

Hi guys. The real Ghentwatch here. Thank god I still have an account here.
Don't buy from this guy. I've been trying to get him banned from most relevant forums but Chronotrader admins aren't responding. You can always DM me over on Instagram or whatever to double check my identity. And I have accounts in my name on most watchforums. Sorry for the inconvenience this lying SOB has caused. |

any bad comments and different locations are enough to get me out of there. Too many watches to be messing with that kind of stuff.

Thanks to all.
I've talked to the TRF GhentWatch (from Belgium) and it seems that the other guy (from US) is a scammer... Hope they will ban him from most of watchforums. |
