5167 Vs 5164

Hello
Im planning to jump in the Patek’s world. First I wanted the 67, its simole and beautiful. But now I have doubts 64 is gorgeous and love its complications.

I think the 5164 is the perfect travel watch.

If you’re willing to spend more, I’d go 5164. And eventually add a 5711 (/1a or /1r) and you are set.

5164. Its a great travel watch and a great everyday watch as i wear mine way more often with the 2nd time zone hidden. IMO the dial is more interesting with the date dial vs the 67.

I was just farting around in my photo studio when I saw this thread.

my choice...

I'd consider thickness. I used to own the 5167 but it was far to thin for me - not what I envision for a "sports watch". The 5164 is a good bit thicker and has more of a sporty masculine feel - while the 5167a was thinner than some of my dress watches.

You really can’t lose. If funds permit I would get the 5164

I have a 5167r but I voted 5164 because i think in steel at least its a nicer watch.
but my 67r came to me used and at a good price.

tbh I love them both for different reasons.

5164 if you can pony up the premium. It's a lot of money for a complication you might not use. Even then, it has a more interesting dial, more symmetrical case and better proportions IMO.

Agree with this. Even if you will never use the second time zone function I think the 5164 is more interesting visually and horologically.

A few years ago, the same poll had nearly a tie. I love when this happens with a sizable number of votes. It shows that these watches are great and very coveted.

https://www.rolexforums.com/poll.php...ts&pollid=2921

I like both references almost equally, maybe with a very slim preference for the 5164.

I'm on the fence between this, 5712 and 116500. Flipped the 5711, too boring.

Agree with the boring point and does apply for 5167
I also have both 116500 and beleive me daytona C is a tremendous watch !
5164 + 116500 will suit perfectly well

5164 is the best but 5167 is the only one that’ll be in my budget

I’d get either on in RG instead of SS. I voted for the 5164 because it’s more useful for traveling.

Both are great. I’d rather take the 5167 and add a Reverso or GMT.

Love the 5164, it is a big premium over the 67 but very worth it.

I didn’t even think about the 5167A, went straight to the 5164A. I had to decide between 5712/1a and 5164A at the time though.
