Warranty card

I am interested in purchasing a watch and wanted more info on warranty card and dealer stamp. The dealer/jeweler says AP has a new warranty card that does not show the originating dealer or a stamp. Is this correct?

correct 2018 releases have new card, date is registered by AD.
when u register it online under ur name, itn auto populate the date that the AD submitted at point of sale.

also bear in mind, if u get the watch from a reseller as BNIB 2018 model, the date they sell it to you may not (very likely) be the date that's registered with AP...most likely earlier in the year, as they got it in their hands long before they end up selling to u. that means you're likely to lose few/several months (eg, the reseller got it in their hands in Feb, therefore warranty registered as Feb 2018, but you've taken ownership from reseller in June).

Isn't that also the case with the old card. Old card has date and AD stamped on it when buying through a reseller too. Unless one enters a current date whe registering online. What I did was enter the date that was on the warranty card to avoid any discrepancies.
