I'll have to disagree with this statement that if a Rolex were made in 24k gold that it would look the same as an 18k gold Rolex. There is a purity and luster that can be seen and noticed with higher karat gold.

My YG watches have plenty of luster, maybe you should voice your complaints to the Rolex CEO.

Bulova came out with a 24 carat gold watch. I have not heard much about since its release about 5 years ago.

I'd be remiss not to state that none of my points were complaints just matter of fact.

Too much misinformation on this thread.

I thought I read somewhere though that the deployant on the bracelet is actually 10 karat gold makes sense if this actually is done for longevity. I guess that would make it 100% 10k gold

24K gold, pure gold is too soft for any sort of jewelry. It is usually used for plating decorative items such as plates, collectibles, etc.

Even the spring bars are gold?

That’s crazy

No every part of the watch including bracelet screws and pin bars is 18k gold.

Only the crystal and the movement aren’t.

The dial is NOT brass either, it’s 18k Gold.

Most of older Rolex watches had hollow center links. Some were actually made gold capped. The first all 100% 18k solid gold Rolex was the 9630 King Midas. It was the heaviest gold watch money could buy at the time. Cut from one solid block of 18k gold. If I'm not mistaken Rolex watches weren't completely solid until around 2000?

True statement. 24k looks vastly different from 18k, which looks noticeably different from 14k.

Rolex 18k is a very nice 18k imho

If I’m not mistaken all 18k submariners have an internal case (or a portion of the case) that is not 18k. This is a technical design requirement to achieve the depth rating the submariner model requires. I wonder if someone else on this forum could confirm specifics (or debunk)...

Incorrect. The case is solid 18K as well as the case back. If not all gold, it could not have 18K, 750, and the gold hallmarks stamped into it. It achieves the same rating as the SS models.
