I have had mine on the wrist for a couple of months and don't know how I ever lived without it.

Very well said. I was definitely in that camp until I had it on my wrist. I was never happy with the ND from day 1. Its crazy how much difference a small bubble with a date window underneath makes on this watch. Now its just perfect!

Thank you sir! I feel very fortunate to own this piece.

And big thanks to everyone that replied. If anyone is deciding between the date vs no date (i know a lot of you are right now), just go for the date. Having been there and done that, believe me when i say you look for the date a lot more than you think! Also, i definitely prefer the "Rolex" look with the cyclops over the "clean symmetrical" look of the ND.

Horology is definitely a way more expensive hobby. I'm still trying to kick my shoe habit.

Each time I passed, I chose the other model because I felt that literally every person I see with a Rolex was wearing one. But I came to the conclusion that there is a good reason why it's one of the most common Rolexes you see on the street today. And that is because it truly is the most iconic, timeless, versatile, and tough as steel (pun intended) Rolex Sport Model money can buy today. Can you guess what model I am talking about?

If you guessed it, . Some of you may remember, I've made multiple posts in the past debating whether to flip my ND Sub for something else. That was the last time I passed on the Sub Date and I bought the ND was because I wanted something different than the BLNR and everyone has the Date. I bought it to wear as a daily and I quickly learned that I use the date function a lot more than I thought. I also realized that I love having the cyclops, which is a unique Rolex feature. After trying to convince myself that the ND was better than the Sub Date for almost a year, I caved and sent David SW an email.

I've been wearing the Sub Date every day for about a week now and my heart finally feels content. The Sub Date is the watch I should have bought from the start, it really is the best all around Rolex Sport model you can buy as a daily wearer. Yes they are everywhere, but now I understand why and I am proud to join the group!

My first Rolex
I thought alot before deciding
I had the chance for a Hulk/LV , SD43 or the LN
went for the LN
Its just so iconic you cant go wrong
Might be the most copied watch but there is a reason for
It

Cannot agree with you more sir! Its the cleanest and most classic of the Rolex SS models in my opinion. Must have the date on this wrist too

I have the BLNR and owned the Hulk. My Submariner date is on my wrist 95% of the time .

Well done and congrats. My first Rolex was an E series 16610 which I still have today. Over the years I gone through similar ebbs and flows with regard to thinking it was too common, seeing so many on the street to loving "the quintessential" dive watch.

I just yesterday however took delivery of a new SD43 and must say am loving it. While there are a lot of similarities to my Sub it's bigger and badder all the way around. Love the new movement, size, bracelet, cyclops, etc. and it complements my BLNR and bark DD. I put the sub on a NATO which further separates the similarities.

Congrats again and wear it in good health. I agree despite the broad range of great sport Rolex's the Sub Date is a classic and no-brainer.

I kidd. The Sub Date is great. There's a reason why its the most popular Rolex. Glad you are finally happy, I know the feeling, it was opposite for me (Owned a Sub Date for many years and something didn't feel right and just switched to a Sub and am 100% content).
Same as me, it has always been the no date sub for me

Got mine yesterday and have gone for the last 20 years seeing clients of mine buying Rolex watches all the time and I was never in that position to justify having something like that on my wrist. I have always wanted a Sub and finally I have got one. I don't think I have grinned so much in my life.
Still constantly look at it, love it.
