Watchfinder Uk trying it on ?

If anyone in the UK is after a Tudor Blackbay GMT I see Watchfinder have two for sale at a slight premium of £1,960 above RRP.

Are things that desperate or are they having a laugh.

Am assuming it’s just the initial “if you want to be one of the first, you need to pay up” type of things.

Hopefully it will pass, as they should stock these up over the next few months in the AD’s. I’d like to think Tudor won’t be like Rolex in terms of drip feeding their new GMT to their dealers.

Why would they be having a "laugh"?

The watch just came out. It is in limited supply. The is always a premium for new releases such as this on the secondary market. Then as more become available, the price comes down. Just how it is.

come on if production has been limited to only 600,000, then rolex watches are mass produced as well

they have 3 more on the way as well when I last looked no doubt at the same fanciful premium

its a very popular tudor but I agree paying a premium is nuts and I had one of the first in the UK and love the watch a lot

I doubt it will stay at a premium but cant see much discount forseeably

They are trying it on - this is not a rare watch and within 6 months or even sooner it will be fairly easy to get direct from AD's windows or with a modest wait. But there will be buyers that will pay, such is the hysteria over watches these days.

Think that modest wait will be a little longer than you expect. A lot of people on lists with AD's for them.

Yes, I called them up and they describe themselves as the biggest internet watch dealer in Europe so they are going to price up accordingly.

I think Tudor and Rolex will note these prices and they will drip feed these to customers now, don't think they will just be giving them out like a normal BB.

Watchfinder are usually having a laugh.
Am sure the joke will continue now they've been bought by Richemont.

Not a surprise they are selling the Tudor GMT at such a premium and you can't really blame them, after all they are there to make money.

It just annoys me that they're appearing in places like Watchfinder and eBay while genuine buyers are still waiting for the call from AD's

There's plenty of money slushing around in the UK among the watch buying crowd. It's a pretty good alternative to the extremely scarce stainless steel Rolex sports models.

Their Buy Back Guarantee is interesting. Their recent acquisition by Richemont will give it that extra clout.

In fairness with Richemont now behind them they are probably the biggest in the world and bigger than many actual watch brands now.

they are the biggest pre owned retailer

it must be a very good business - seems an obvious move by Richemont - surprised no one did it sooner
