The Omega Speedmaster “pre-moon” 2998-6 is a vintage watch with a pedigree that is second to none. The 2998 was first introduced in 1959, and was in production for a mere three years before being discontinued in 1962. In following decades, it has established itself as one of the most collectible watches ever made.

What sets the 2998-6 apart from other vintage Omega watches is its hand-wound caliber 321 movement. This limited production movement makes the watch extremely rare and highly sought after by collectors. Another defining characteristic of the 2998-6 is its 39mm case and straight lugs which differs from contemporary Speedmasters with their twisted lugs and asymmetrical cases. The case features of the pre-moon 2998 give the watch an unmistakably unique and vintage appearance.

The Omega Speedmaster 2998-6 is also distinguished by its "base 500" bezel and dot over 90 designation. These elements make the watch even more collectible and valuable. And because of its age and limited production run, surviving examples of the 2998-6 are few and far between. Even more rare are those like this example that still have their original parts.

If you're looking for a vintage Omega watch that is truly unique, then the Speedmaster 2998-6 is the perfect choice. With its rare hand-wound movement and classic design, this timepiece is sure to take pride of place in any collection.
