GMT Running Slow

My 116710 is coming up to 5 years old. I have noticed recently that the power reserve was dropping off. Yesterday I wound it 40 times and it had stopped 5 hours later. Today it is losing about 60 seconds every hour. I also notice that when pushing in the crown the second hand doesn’t start moving unless I give it a good tap.

I assume it’s time to go to RSC but does anyone know what the likely issue is? Broken main spring? Any chance it could just be magnetised?

Thanks for any insight!

if you did 40 FULL turns, power storage spring broken.Aas for losing time, debris perhaps. When magnetized it would run fast.

Thanks. Yes, definitely 40 full turns.

I'd stop the movement and send it in. You don't want to run it when it is clearly damaged.

Most likely broken main spring. Time for movement service.

Very frustrating. Thanks everyone for your help. I imagine this is quite unusual for a watch that is less than 5 years old. Shame I bought it just before they extended the warranty!

It's frustrating. My GMT jump hour hand broke right after warranty too. $750.

The good news is it will come back like new with a 2 year warranty.

On another note, have you decided if you're going to polish or not? If not, then maybe an independent would be less expensive.
