I think Eddie is pretty happy with his brand new Nakaya Pen, and should have some photos of it very soon.

I think a Montblanc 149 would be a cool giveaway

Maybe there will be one soon, who knows, how would I know

Sorry for the slight delay.

I was in Melbourne last week.

I managed to catch up with Steve, John, Jed, Julian and Gerry at the GTG. I will post up these pix on another thread.

My Nakaya pen was waiting for me when I arrived back home yesterday.

My final choice was:

Nakaya long, Cigar (no clip), Kuro-tamenuri (blackish red) with a two-tone 14K music nib.
It came with a Nakaya single pen pillow.

John Mottishaw set it up for a medium pressure right hander with a generous ink flow.

The quality of this pen is outstanding as was the service and the attention to detail that I received while this pen was customised for me.

I have tried to bring out the colours of this pen in the pix but in every pix the highlights are different.

I will post up an evaluation with handwriting samples once I have 'run it in' for a while.

Thanks once again to Steve, John and all the others at Classic Fountain Pens who arranged all this.

Eddie.

WOW! That's a great pen, Eddie. Better than in my dreams...

Thanks for posting the pics and "sharing" a great writing instrument. I love the way it catches the light.

Congrats, again!

Thank you very much to John Mottishaw from www.nibs.com

It was very generous of him to offer this pen as a give away on the forum and I think the final result is testament to the quality of his kindness and professionalism.

I really like the red accents on this pen, and will be interested to see how it changes over the next 12 months as the red by natural process becomes more pronounced (a characteristic of this natural material).

Congrats to Eddie, you got lucky.....for once in your life

I really think this selection was excellent, and this pen is an outstanding example of the Nakaya brand.

To everyone else, thank you very much for your much appreciated participation. It was great

Eddie, as you probably know I own the shorter version of this pen. I know you are going to love writing with it!
Mine is now a year old and just as they said it would the black becomes more translucent and shows the read through more, it still is dark but it really takes on a magnificent hue. I know that you will enjoy this slow but fascinating process.

I am dying to see a handwriting sample using that music nib. I was sorely tempted by that one and more than likely my next Nakaya will have it.

Congratulations again. I am so happy the pen went to a good home!
Thanks again to Steve and John for making this happen, great guys!
