Well it is awesome, but put on a blue dial or a more 5980-1R type of brown grey dial and it would be perfect, love the 5980-1R dial color, if thev5711-1R had it, it would be hard to resist, too bad they changed it, I mean the 5980, 5711 and 5712 have the same blue, why not the same brown?

I disagree, that black/blackish dial is so common and RG and chocolate brown is a much more beautiful and interesting combo. The 5711 and those others have the same blue but it is the duller grey/blue, the newer models all now have the more vibrant modern blue, but AP and Rolex have this gold and blue combo covered extensively already.

5711 blue dial next to the 40th Anniversary - much bluer dial and more overall zing to it. Still prefer the regular blue dial though, seems more versatile. Nothing wrong with the 40th though.

Great photo and comparison. It looks like the lume runs the full length of the minute hand on the anniversary piece.

Was that piece spoken for?

It's the same as the regular model. In the photo it's just the other end of the second hand that's covering the minute hand.

This is unfair! You're killing those who aspire to get one. Not so subliminal seduction.

It is great but I kind of prefer the 5980 color. About the blue dials they are great when the light make them really blue whereas the times when the dial is grey is not what I prefer, sometimes the dial on my 5712 looks average and maybe a little boring, but when it is really blue is awesome, but love them anyways, same for my 15300, the blue is very dark and not the most vibrant blue, but for AP as well as PP I think that kind of blue is supposed to be more discreet and classy rather than too blue, but my favorite will always be the pt 5711 color wise, now that is an awesome blue, find the Rolex bluesy nice but a little too blue, I know it's supposed to be like that as its sunburst, but if it was less flashy I would prefer a little, anyways I am not into full gold watches at all, though maybe one day a Jumbo in gold might make its way into the collection, but not soon, even if I have a firearm permit I can't imagine walking around with a watch which costs what some people around where I live earn in a lifetime, not even talking walking around in Paris with it, even in a tourist area you have very very high chances of getting mugged for it, when it's full gold hard to mistake it for a fake, especially when light hits it. About the vibrant blue on newer models can imagine if this year PP make a newer bluer dial on the 5711, the one I am getting will seem dull next to it, though I think it will be hard for them making and justifying putting a bluer dial on the SS if that was basically the sales pitch for the pt models, if they do that this year would probably tell my AD to keep it and give me the first place for the newer 5711, but don't see any chance of that happening any time ever...
