Which Ceramic AP? Diver or 44?

Hi all,

I have narrowed down my AP search finally! I’m interested in either the 26405CE new ceramic 44 or the 15707CE ceramic diver. They both fit my wrist beautifully, so size is not an issue. 6’3 and close to 7 inch wrists. I know ceramic diver goes for around 25K and is much more limited, and the 44 goes for around retail of 32K. Unfortunately I have never tried on either, so I will be buying blind. However I’ve tried on many 42s and 44s.

The 44 has a huge following, with it seeming like the rose gold being the most popular. It seems to wear flatter and more spread out across the wrist. And the diver is a great summer/sunlight/beach/pool watch. I can’t get over how cool AP ceramic is.

Which do you guys prefer and why? Do you wear the watch all the time and how is living with the watch? I love the size of both of them, and honestly don’t think I could go wrong either way. Any pics and opinions are always welcome!

The 44mm for sure! I have the ceramic 44mm offshore and it’s probably my favorite offshore of all time. The weight is perfect and it is soo sleek and understated with just the right hint of blue.

Full disclosure, I haven’t tried on a ceramic diver but have owned a normal diver and tried on the RG Japan version. Divers are great but just don’t have the same wrist feel I think.

I have had both and prefer the 44 line to the 42 line.Mainly because the diver is a pain to use with the internal bezel.

diver no question. IMO the diver is the best offshore... and the CE is probably the best of the bunch

the only offshore i would buy back is a diver. Ive had a RG 44 and a Ti 44 as well.

you cant really put the diver in the same category as the rest of the 42mm offshores as far as which size is better 42 or 44. The 42 chronographs vs the 44 chronographs its 44 every time, but the diver is its own thing

Personally, if I didn’t have the anthracite dial, I’d get the Pride of Germany. And I’m quite tempted to pick up the new Grey CE 44

I used to own a Diver along with a 42mm Panda and a rose gold rubber clad. I’ve considered buying another Diver but imo the case proportions make the case look too tall especially once you’ve had a 44 on your wrist, as said above the 44 case size looks much flatter on the wrist. I would definitely choose the ceramic 44 over any Diver. I also much prefer the slightly sportier design of the 44 rubber straps.

The diver is so versatile, it's my most worn piece one average looking back over 4 years. With that said, If I had slightly larger wrists I would go for a 44.

Curious, why did you eventually move on from the 44 Ti?

44mm for me. Having it for cca 6 months now and its still honeymoon. Like the 44mm pushers and if your wrist can take it in my view 44mm are in league of their own compared to all other offshores.

Ceramic in black relatively under the radar and not too flashy.

Finish of the ceramic, weight, how it sits on the wrist is all perfect.

Like the red gold contrast and black tapisserie. On the negative side probably very difficult to combine different strap color...

Would love to know why you have moved on from the 44’s as well. For more Patek and the Platona? Lol

If you can pull off the 44, I would go for that.

If 44 is too big for your wrist, then the CE diver is sublime. As Tyler says, probably the best of the bunch from a whole range of aspects !

i moved the diver because i was enamored with the 44s at the time. Probably a mistake. A combination of what in my opinion was a pretty terrible customer service experience with AP (long story), them moving more to boutique only and dropping AD's, and the fact i kind of moved past oversized watches as a staple of my collection, i got rid of them. Plus i have never kept a RG watch of any brand for that long anyway. Just too loud for me

Still like the offshores generally but if i added one back as i said it would be the diver.

The 44mm Offshores did suit you, imo the Pateks looked daft on you as they looked tiny on your wrist, maybe with a suit they would have looked good.

No wrong choice here as brushed ceramic is AP's modern speciality, I'm a big 44 man and love the new Germany 44 but I'd probably just lean toward the Diver here, maybe as I have a 44 already.

I own the diver and really do love it. Easily got the most wrist time until I recently acquired my 5990. However if my wrist size could pull off a 44 I would definitely be going with that as I just think they are a little more interesting and the price point is fairly negligible at ~7k for more watch.

If you can go 44 I think the new grey ceramic looks really cool.
