If you want higher proof, consider tracking down one of their cask strength releases. This 2016 is 124.6 proof.....very tasty.

Just popped open a bottle of Weller Special Reserve yesterday. It was a gift a buddy gave us as a housewarming gift and was very tasty!

A friend of mine is selling some of his bottles. He offered them to me 1st but I’m not sure how to value them as I’m just starting to build my taste and collection. I have had Weller in the past, and from what I remember, I know I liked it. He’s asking $2900 for the set, to me that sounds like full retail...thoughts.

He doesn't have the Single Barrel (wheated/orange label) in there... Thats a lot of money for that set!

The SRP for that full set is $500 tops if you can find them. It’s a hard pass for me.
There are are other wheaters out there that are readily available and reasonably priced. I just picked up a 2020 Maker’s wood finished series for $59.
Cheers!

That’s easily 700 over secondary for those. That’s a hard pass. Tell him you’ll give him 750 for the WLW and he can keep the rest lol

out of that set there are only 4 bottles in my opinion worth any money.
The WLW on the end goes for around 1k right now on the secondary market all others are a couple hundred except the w12 and special reserve.

Not anywhere near close to 2900.

tell him he's a horrible friend
