Congrats! Did the big turbo, IC, etc with the BMW N55, worth every penny. Am 100000% sure on the tri-star it'll be epic.

Rods, wrist pins, and valve seals are things to watch apparently. Wrist pins and apparently valve seals were issues from the factory. Which there are TSBs on hopefully mercedes considers a service campaign.

For this car I'm not sure it would be better. The 157 and 278 are pretty stout. Brabus went from stuffing a modified V12 to just modifying the 157, which is a modified 278, Brabus rocket 800 vs 850 I believe.

One of my favorite LS1 swaps was a guy on RR.net, put an LS1 in a P38. I think that guy is working on a 5.0 AJV8 swap too. Which is cool, since my last 5L AJv8 blew up completely stock.

I really am enjoying it. I have really liked learning about the Mercedes 600 (and 560 etc). I love seeing some of the older ones tuned. I love the g. My gf is sort of suggesting to consider opening a shop or working with an existing tuner, sending them business maybe help out with the build sheets and install.

There are some android units for the older cars, and out of the box, they are rough, but I'm running an external USB sound card, and apple carplay box and it really works well.

wow what a cool engine, a twin scroll bmw i6. must be fantastic. A buddy in my apartment has an S65. Beautiful cars. My Dad had a 2002, 735i, 535i, 325i, a couple M Z3s, and the NA i6 M3, e46 m3. I love the E cars like the e9. They really got me into cars. My dad and I enjoyed bonding over them which of course can be hard for some old school father son archetypal relationships.

At the crank I'm at ~600hp tuned, and ~500hp without ECU tune. I've upgraded the air intakes with UPD air risers and K&N believe it or not those have dyno'd out to about 23 hp to the wheels. I took out the resonators and upgraded the exhaust, sounds awesome and no drone (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wZy4EABlAcY
). And some hacks like always on IC pumps, colder spark plugs, new coil and boot on one of the cylinders.

I'm going to run stock ECU for a bit, and put in two oil catch cans, diverter/Blow off Valve since the first two cylinders (especially 5) can have some issues with valves.

Right now I'm working on methanol.

I need to figure out how to cut methanol boost levels down to normal boost levels when methanol runs out. Right now I'm running down the idea of sending the ECU a signal that the IC pump is not working upon no methanol, (maybe some other cooling issue) to force lower boost tables.

I believe this should give me another ~100hp. Later I'll look at turbos. As per advice I think I'm going to stop around 700-900hp.

I haven't used a gps box, but I should be at low 3s to 60 and mid-high 11s to 1/4 mile. I should be able to get to mid high 10s based on statements from RennTech and others.

I will send the gofund me link. Don't forget the "175 to look at it" charge. I'll be sure to grab a MB water though for each of the gofundme supporters

Since my 135 with the N54 was my DD I just went with a Cobb tune. $200 and 15 minutes later I added about 80hp and 100 ft lbs without changing anything else but I see you made up your mind and went all in.

My C6 Corvette on the other hand is my weekend fun car and that’s where the money goes. The week after the warranty was up on went the SC and related parts, added over 200hp.
You’re going to love the better heavier breathing turbos and it will be night and day difference when you plant your foot. Keep us updated.
