Best bracelet for 1861 speedy please advise!

Hi guys, I've recently acquired the 1861 and honestly absolutely loved it unfortunately the only blocker from getting it previously was the bracelet I never liked it. However, i was debating between the 1861 vs 3861 despite loving the 3861 Bracelet I ended up with the 1861 on leather strap. I enjoyed it on nato and several perlon strap but thought eventually would be nice to get a bracelet to switch things up. Suggestions? My options currently are the flat link or the new 3861(concern that it won't fit well at the end link).

Also wondering if i buy another bracelet from omega but not the 1861 original strap when selling it will I he better off selling without the bracelet? Will it devalue the watch?

Thank!

Best bracelet for the money are the ones offered by Uncle Seiko or Forstner. If you want an OEM bracelet, then the 1171 is quite popular.

I didn't think the Omega 50th flat link fit the regular 1861/1863 models. At least it didn't fit without modification to the end links of the bracelet.

Thank you so much! this is very helpful, after further research I think I'm leaning toward the look of the flat link!

Thanks a lot! never really see one in the flesh but looks really comfortable, might be similar to the new one perhaps?

from my understanding many people advice using the Uncle seiko endlink to get the perfect fit.

You can use also end links from forstner flat link to 50th anniversary I believe

I have both US145o uncle seiko and forstner flat link
Both very well made but for my wrist fit forstner is much more comfortable also the clasp on forstner is better.

Some mix of my1861 with FL vs US1450
Different horses both worth the price, you can replace the US1450 clasp with a vintage OEM Omega clasp

I also own the 1861 and replaced the OEM bracelet with the Forstner Flat Link bracelet and could not be more pleased. The fit is outstanding and the bracelet has a slight stretch to it so you can get a perfect fit as your wrist swells in the warmer weather. The price is good also.

Will an Omega Boutique put on a Forstner bracelet on a Speedy? Of course, I will call to ask, just wanted to see if anyone knew.

I'm wearing my 1861 on an Uncle Seiko US1035 and went with the brushed/polished combo.

Cons: feels flimsy compared to any OEM bracelet, a bit jangly, the fit of the bracelet ends to the end-link looks a bit like an afterthought, link removal was really difficult and I needed a watchmaker to get the pins out

Positives: very comfortable, supple, perfect fit is attainable

Overall I'm happy with it for the price. I think the fit and finish of the Forstner is a bit better based on pics. I swap to the OEM leather straps in cooler weather, and Erika's Original straps in the summer quite often, so I didn't want to put a lot of money into a bracelet that doesn't see much use.

I have my 1861 on a 3861 bracelet and it fits and feels fantastic. Really like the taper and the lightness of the bracelet. All the talk about pulling arms hair is silly. As you can see I’ve got plenty and it has not been an issue. .

Thanks a lot I'm leaning toward the Fostner if that's the case!

Thank you, the 3861 bracelet is really comfortable is there any visible gaps between the endlinks? I heard there is, if not then I'm sold! I really liked it when I tried the 3861 on.

Just got a 3861 a couple weeks ago (thanks dnb :)) and the bracelet is absolutely great, wears very comfortable, and I don't see any visible gaps between anywhere. No problem either with pulling the arm's hairs (and I have plenty on offer :)).

The watch itself is absolutely great and that co-axial master chronometer movement is _very_ precise and accurate (less than +1s/d so far over 14 days, wearing it 2/3 of the time and resting on it's side at night).

No visible gaps that I can see either. Check out my pics above.

As an aside, I can’t see putting a $100 bracelet on a $6K timepiece.

The 3861 bracelet is very light yet well made. A huge improvement over the 1861 bracelet .

I like the Uncle Seiko 1450 except for the end links. They are too flat extending out from the case and it creates a big drop off where the first link meets up with the end link.

I have the Forstner flat link bracelet which I also like and I used the end links from that bracelet on the US 1450 and it looks great. The Forstner end links are more curved. I did have to use skinnier spring bars to make it work.

1171

Hi Texasmade, does the 1171 fit the 3861? I know it fits the 1861 I have that set up but thinking of upgrading to the new speedy, just don't like the new bracelet. Thanks in advance!

Good thing we all have different tastes. I actually just bought one of the last 1861. Waiting for it to arrive tomorrow. I compared the 1861 and 3861 side by side and preferred the older model. Not a fan of the step dial, color, finish and the fact that they changed the movement. But the deciding factor was the bracelet really. The older ones are way more substantial and an improvement over previous models. I have one of the more “jubilee” style bracelets on my 1990 Speedy reduced - and even that is way nicer than the new model that is way too flexible and rough and flimsy feeling.
I like vintage design with some modern features and the 1861 is the right balance for me. Perfect compliment to my favorite Rolex, the Sea Dweller 16600.

I'm not too sure. I haven't seen anyone post pictures here, Omegaforums, or the Speedmaster Facebook group with a 3861 Speedy on an 1171. I've only seen people put on the Apollo 11 50th flat link bracelet on the 3861.

Best bet is to call up an Omega Boutique and ask them.

A little late to the party, but I really dig the JB Forstner 1450 on my 1861...

My Vote goes to the 50th anniversary bracelet. Should fit with OEM end links that comes with it with 16mm spring bars. Love the 321 but this is the closest for me to ever acquiring one :)
