Omegas deployment buckle for SMP is a great change!

For any of my seamaster pro people. The deployment buckle makes it feel like a new watch, it’s $500 (if you can find one which is irritating) but if you’re contemplating getting one definitely do.

Nice! Why is it $500? I bought the clasp from Omega recently for my Speedmaster and I don’t recall it was that much.

What is the reference # on the clasp please?

Clasp is $250 and rubber strap is another $250. The pin buckle rubber strap isn't interchangeable with the deployant rubber strap.

Exactly right. Here’s a copy of the receipt for reference numbers.

Looks good but even for someone that spends like they print money in the basement that one hurts. For now I will stick with the standard rubber strap and buckle.

Such a good analogy, my wife tells me weekly I spend like we have a press..

Makes me recall an interview with some members of The B52s where one of them explained this was the topic of their tune "Legal Tender".

I'm not a Seamaster 300 owner and my opinion is not relevant here, but I also get the sense I would prefer the standard strap and pin buckle (no offense to the OP intended!).

None taken at all. For some reason I can’t make myself like a pin buckle, I’ve tried but always make the switch.

When I purchased my 300m, I got a good deal for the rubber strap and tang buckle. If I'm not mistaken, the MSRP for the standard set is $350. With no hesitation, I upgraded to the rubber and matching deployant for $150 more. Totally worth it as you can use the deployant for other OEM leather or aftermarket straps. Ease of use of the deployant and aesthetics are just bonuses :)

Definitely a necessity! I refuse to spend thousands of dollars on a watch and wrestle with a pin on a buckle. For me it's deployant or I would not buy the watch. I don't understand these luxury watch manufacturers that market watches for $5,000 and more and do not supply a folding clasp. Besides the obvious wear factor every time you put the watch on and take it off, it's a royal pain in the @ss and takes the pleasure out of owning an upscale piece.

I agree. Totally should have come on deployment to begin with in my opinion. The tang buckle does not fit snugly, and either has to be worn too tight or too loose for me. The deployment is the sweet spot. Picked up black and blue versions for my respective Seamaster 300M's. Had a few clasps lying around, new style, that I hadn't realized I purchased (I too think we have a press hidden somewhere...), so worked out okay for me. LOL.

Seamaster experts - do the new Seamasters come with the deployment clasp? Or do they still come with the tang and this needs to be an “extra” purchase? Thanks.

Tang. If you want the clasp, it's an extra purchase unless you can convince the AD or OB to throw it in for free.

I find the Omega deployants to be very comfortable on my wrist. I have four of them. I find that they extend the life of my leather straps. They eventually pay for themselves in that regard.

Ordered one for my Seamaster 300M from the new boutique in Liverpool UK, hadn't realised Omega had released one as last time i asked it wasn't available, picking it up next week.

I do like omegas deployant clasps a lot clean look and smooth operation. For any brand adding on after the fact is pricey but in the grand scheme worth it to me. I just paid 7-800 for my GO strap and deployant clasp and its like i added an entire different watch with the new look it gives.

I’m looking to replace my pin/buckle strap and get either the same strap with folding clasp or a AT rubber which also fits perfect and looks good
