Royal Oaks Hit an All-Time High>>>>>>>

Enjoy the read! This is why I decided to take the plunge and overpay above retail. Ended up with a NOS safe queen Royal Oak 15400.

Congratulations! Though our preferences differ (I prefer the 15500), the 15400 is an absolute stunner too!

No offense, but the claim that AP (boutiques) will start selling above MSRP was discussed and debunked. Everybody who asked at their boutique got the same reply - this is just boilerplate language and the boutiques will continue to sell at MSRP. Some fact checking would have been helpful. Nice watch, though.

Not sure who debunked that. I work directly with AP and their third-party PR agency.

All of the members around the world who asked their boutiques if this was happening or not. They all said the ADs can sell over retail but boutiques are still selling at retail.

I'll leave the speculation for the crypto markets. The only thing I know, is that you have good tastes in coffee cups!

Unless that's not your coffee cup and someone else took the cover photo. Then I have the rescind the compliment. Lol.

Two boutiques said absolutely not, when I asked whether they will start selling above MSRP. They had fielded the same question from many customers. Others who asked at different boutiques got the same reply.

+1. I still think Hibiki 17 is the best of the bunch... would take it any day over the 21

Enjoy! The black 15400 was my first RO. Back in the day I could only afford one watch at a time so I sadly let it go... for somewhere around $12k IIRC

I just checked this again with 2 contacts I have at US boutiques in LA and New York. They both said absolutely not. Boutiques sell at retail. I think the OP needs to find a new source at AP, and go replace the PR firm.

Agreed with what you said about the 15500 and I thought I was the only one that liked the small marker at 3. I know the Jumbo doesn't have it but I always thought it helped balance the dial.

Of course they're mine. I entered the 'interesting' for someone else on the thread but screwed up and reposted your quote.

Sold most of them at different times while trying to climb up in my watch collecting journey and two were stolen.

They are telling you that because since they added that disclaimer on their website it backfired at them.

Just giving you a hard time while complimenting you on your good taste outside of watches.

So to be clear, you are saying AP's PR company is trying to have the communication point emphasized that they are not longer bound by the list sales price, including the boutiques and trying to telegraph a shift in their retail plans?

How many AD’s are left? I thought AP was moving to mainly boutiques unless the JV boutiques don’t really count as boutiques.

I went by Zadok (the Houston AP AD) during the Christmas break and their AP section was empty with all of the display lights turned off.

OP, you got a 15500st at retail two years ago and sold it, therefore the reason you can't buy one at retail now is because you're blacklisted, it's as simple as that.
