To all British TRF Members

Hey all,

As some of you may know, I have an excellent relationship with my local AD, and after speaking to the MDs this weekend, they'd be willing to put on a special evening exclusively for TRF members. This would involve an after hours lock in at the AD, allowing access to models they have in stock, and they'd also be willing to bring in any other models on approval that members wanted to see. The AD in question is based in the Midlands, and is easy to get to by car, train, and even plane If you might be interested, could you post here, and we can turn this into a real TRF get together. This an amazing opportunity, and I really hope TRF can have a good turn out.

All the best,

Chris

You're more than welcome to join in, but I'm not sure whether it's worth a plane ticket :P

For you, it'll just be on the black and white side of the A52 It would be an after closing meeting, so we'd be looking at actually going to the AD after 7/8 depending on the night

Chris,

Starting Wednesday, I'll be at the Bisley shooting ranges (near Woking) for the next 2-1/2 weeks competing in a rifle match.

I may be able to join in the festivities if I know the date and time....that is if your AD allows yanks on the premises....

Unfortunately I don't think I can organise for within the next fortnight, but if you fancy a trip up to say hello anyway, I'm sure they wouldn't mind showing you around

After looking up where the Midlands are located, I would have to say that any other AD excursions will probably be limited to the London area. Any recommendations?

Looking forward to seeing the UK...first trip abroad for me.

Yes, it would be a bit of a trek lol. As for London, not sure about ADs, but you should certainly check out the Burlington Arcade, lots of interesting specialist watch shops there

If I'm free on that day I'll try and pop along - hopefully it'll be on a weekend that I'm free so that I can drive up from London :)

Thanks for the interest so far, no date has been set just yet, so I'll tentatively suggest the evening of Saturday the 15th of August. I need to double check with the AD to see if that's going to be possible, but if you could all give me a rough idea of whether that's a possibility or not, that'd be great :)

Just a quick update, a Saturday isn't going to be possible due to staffing issues, but I have been told that a Monday evening would be perfect for them. Would that be alright for everyone?

Mid August, I was thinking around the 17th, although there will be some flexibility as well if that's a real no go

Thanks Matt and Simon, I'll try and push for then if I can. I think it's a great opportunity to meet an awesome group of people, and have a look at some great watches. The AD stocks Rolex, Cartier, Omega, Chronoswiss and Raymond Weil, so there should be something for everyone! Any particular models that anyone would like to see, just so I can give the MDs some time to get them in?

Might be a long shot, but worth a try. We'll have to see if Rolex UK have gotten hold of the dummy ones that JJ got to see the other day
