Read it again. It doesn't really sound like the dogs did anything other than scare the police a little. They didn't harm the deceased man.

I don’t have a dog.
I have a very hirsute family member, though

He is doing great with the kids, our other dog and our cats. Now we are teaching him not to chase the chickens or horses or get killed by our donkey.
We’ve had 3 Great Pyrenees, they’re amazing dogs. It makes me so sad that they are thrown out like garbage when they don’t work out as livestock guardians.
Their loss is our gain!

Here’s the current pack. A Great Pyrenees and a Pyrenean Mastiff.

The GP was a 1yr old rescue from Georgia found abandoned.
The Pyrenean Mastiff is an interesting story. She’s a retired Champion show dog originally from Russia. We were going to get one of her puppies and my wife and the breeder became friends. Ultimately we didn’t get a puppy but took her when the Breeder decided to retire her and got 2 new puppies from Spain to breed and show. She’s got a bunch of dogs on a big farm and is very involved in rebuilding the breed. They almost went extinct due to WWI and the Spanish Civil War.
Good luck with the puppy. The hard work will pay off, but expect it to take at least a year.

I thought about this thread a bunch during my first few months with Molly.

I tight I made a mistake quite a few times. But gosh dang this dog has become so good. She’s a sweetheart. Loves everyone. Loves being outside. She’s great companion. we’ve created a really special bond. Always amazes me. Dogs are awesome.

Our miniature Schnauzer that my family had when I was in my 20s was a terrific dog. Affectionate, loyal, friendly, obedient. Not a PITA in the least. The joke was that she was my mother’s favorite child. Maybe not a joke.

We currently have 2 dogs we adopted from a local shelter.
Three weeks ago our Pit/Lab mix slipped on the hardwood flooring .
The result was a bulging disc that also injured his spinal cord.
Emergency surgery at was performed at midnight to repair the bulging disc.
Unfortunately he has not regained any movement in his hind quarters.
We are determined to give him a good quality of life.
His wheel are expected in a few weeks.
His name is Colt, but we now call him Diaper Boy….LOL.

Good man. Glad to see that you're taking on that responsibility -- it won't be easy but it will be rewarding for both you and Colt :)

We'd do the same for our little guy!

Thanks we are going on holiday abroad for two weeks and he is going to a nice sitter but i am going to miss him. I told my wife now only local holidays so we can take him. We made him a birthday cake yesterday for his birthday and got him a nice toy.

Also when we went to the ice cream van he ran with the kids and i had to buy him a lolly as i felt i can’t leave him out

absolutely thrilled for you.

my little girl is now at training camp.

I am sadly traveling quite a bit for work these days, and I figured the best and safest way to board her would be to send her to training.

I miss her terrible and we are about half way through. I cannot wait to get her back.

thanks for the follow up. again, thrilled for you.

Do any of you who have a dog remember wanting to give it back every single day of the week and not actually liking it?

When does the thing calm down and stop eating f&@ing sticks of the ground. My one threw up in the park after trying to eat a stick and it still didn’t bloody learn. If anyone wants a free bulldog puppy let me know lol.
No, mine are keepers for life always. That's kind of what a puppy is, not sure what you expected lol. Enjoy it while it lasts, they will get older before you know it and time flies by.

Btw this reminds of hey I got a new Rolex. The bracelet squeaks a lot, especially the clasp. Is something wrong with type of question on the watch forum. Lol jk, but seriously that is what puppies are supposed to do. I'm sure you weren't very likable as a child either

Also, glad to see you two have bonded over the last year. Appreciate the time you have together, it will go quicker than you think.

Thanks yes you are right time flies and has flown with him. I was a pain in the butt as a kid i think being a first time dog owner i didn’t know what to expect. We are talking about getting one more to give him a pal but the costs will mount up i think with two with the amount we spoil him and insurance we might not be able to afford it.
