Way to be vigilant, I’m glad it didn’t turn out very badly as it definitely could.

ANY woman showing interest in me would be a huge red flag.

In another life, that is my past seafaring career, I've often found myself in questionable places and in questionable company. Situational awareness has saved my a$$ 99% of times. The 1% I owe to sheer chance. Had it been otherwise, it's of the non-survivable stuff

Yep, just trying to help others here through my experiences.

Well done Mr G, Brilliant awareness.
Is it worth mentioning this episode to your local Constabulary, they might be glad of a full description. You probably weren't their first 'victims'.

I suppose it makes us all aware how careful our daughters, sisters and girlfriends are having to be these days, guarding more than 'just a watch'.

It's a very good 'heads-up' to us all here isn't it.
How very depressing it is though.

I try to preach it to everyone that wants to listen.

We have gut instincts for a reason. If your gut is telling you something is off, listen to it.

I don’t think it is necessary to mention it at this time. They’re not necessarily guilty. What I perceived as a sketchy situation very well could have been just a couple of young naive swingers with a attraction to old dudes. I did alert the bartender if he saw them continuing the same way with others. I figure with how hyped local news is these days I’d see they got someone and then contact law enforcement to help id them.

Thanks for the concern, realistically I was in no danger since my ears were up from the get go.

Brought it to the forums attention so others can take note and learn.

Great write up and instincts! I wonder if taking a quick selfie with them or her would be enough to make them move on. Picture syncs to cloud and they can’t do anything about it even if they steal your phone.

wow, that's nuts! yeah, once she pointedly asked you why you threw your drink out in the bushes, that's when it was beyond obvious.

Glad your ok.

So what was the end game you collapse playing cornhole, they take your watches.

Weren't there other people around who would have gone to your aid before they did the snatch?

I don’t know if they were trying to long game and get us to hang throughout the day? She kept asking me where I like to go around there. We were in a fairly secluded corner of the place surrounded on two sides with bushes and the majority of the people outside were under covered area about 15 yards away.

I don’t know, I did not get any pics though. So will know how to better respond if there’s a next time.

I presume she was thrown off guard and it came out in frustration. I don’t know if that drink was drugged or if we would have gotten drunk and all went bar hopping and they would have tried to get me with a later drink.

I only decided to bring it here to the forum to raise awareness and give first hand examples of how easy it is to find yourself in situations, even if you’re doing everything right.

The most pressing question here, for some of us at least Goat, is; "what the hell is 'cornholes'"

I trust no one and no one is getting near my drink , my food or me . I keep all strangers at a distance and if they have a problem with that , they are up to no good .

Well, I presume you trust the people making your food when you go out.

Sometimes it’s a lot of fun and you make great friends by interacting with strangers. You just have to know basic rules of self preservation or you will be a victim eventually.

I think the numbers are pretty stupid towards most crimes committed against people are by those they know.

Be vigilant. But live your life. That’s what this thread is all about.
