Some of these names may come back to buy points after the euphoria of earnings fades. Although earnings have been better overall, the broader market is weak and even companies with good earnings are not giving guidance.

I would not be surprised to see this market close negative today and possibly even broadly negative. News events suggest this will be a difficult weekend.

I am holding my cash for better entry points and not selling (yet) anything else although there are several names close to my limits.
I'm also holding here as well. I did pick up a VERY small portion of GOOGL here, but otherwise want to see what happens next week.

Took profits on ABBV today. Earnings were good, guidance was mixed. I like the company and product line, but the stock looked tired as it was stagnant since June and downtrending the past few weeks. Will look to buy back later.

I would exit with a profit after trading several times during the run up earlier. I would use the cash to add to tech.
I think what we’re seeing is that some of these companies that are developing the vaccine are losing revenue/sales in other medications? Honestly, I feel like the moment Moderna or Pfizer or AstraZeneca will lead to better pay off out of travel industry stocks. I hold no position with any travel stocks but I’m saving cash for an entry with good vaccine news.

That brain said, I’m still heavy in tech.

They are able to target ads based on the pins that people post and share, so the business model is solid and really untouchable. FB tried their hand at this and quickly left the market. I agree with women being better with money. Straight up. This is a watch forum where we spend thousands on Rolex lol. Sometimes when I’m buying shares, property, business, etc, I start to question why the hell I have 50 grand tied up in watches. My wife supports, but a part of her probably thinks I’m nuts. She’s the saver. So am I...but I’m an awful spender.

That being said, even using Pinterest has a feminine vibe to it...and I’ve used it haha

Great move. This is a long-term hold.

Preliminary numbers were great and though they might not shift too much, what I'm looking forward to hearing about are the new customers that they've signed.

Sticking with my time frame, looking for yield and an improving economy

I am holding on GILD and will not sell but will look to average down

Hello,

I am looking to buy MMM, JWN, and INTC for the dips. Any thought on these 3 stocks? Thanks.

What research have you done? Why these three?

I own MMM and INTC. I would not touch retail at this point.

How long do you intend to hold these stocks for? What else do you own?

I consider myself a long term dividend investor. I mostly own T, KO, MCD, SBUX... Also bought some airlines, banks, and oil companies few months ago. I still have some cash sitting so looking to either invest in stock or buy a Rolex. I don’t own any retail and Retail does sounds risky but I believe in “be greedy where everyone is fearful.” MMM is a company that is too big to fail and dividends yield looks good. INTC hasn’t drop below $44 for the past 2.5 years so there is a strong support at $44 so I think it might be a good opportunity to buy now.

AAPL looks like it might be getting a bit of a squeeze end of day here. I sold out a few months ago when they were in the 300-320 range thinking they’ve gone too far, and still feel they are vastly overpriced right now (AMZN too). Would like to get back in, but to be honest I have no idea what a legitimate entry point is on this one. No doubt they did well in earnings, but then again, so did MSFT. AAPL does have a bit of a cult-like flavor though where it just seems to go up no matter what. I suspect a slight pull back will happen before the split, but at this rate that might be at a share price of 450 or higher. Anyone else struggling to identify an appropriate entry strategy here?

Retail is a broad category.

I would not touch department stores like M, JWN, Kohl’s (KSS?).
I have owned and currently own HD since 1990. A moon shot.
I still like HD, LOW, COST, BURL, others.

Strong finish to an excellent week. Very happy with the results in FB, GOOGL, AMZN and especially PINS, which should have more tailwinds as lockdowns continue.

Very much looking forward to FSLY and LVGO's earnings next week, as well as DIS. SE has yet to announce an earnings date, but that will round it out for me. Including TSLA, I am now only in 9 stocks (from a high of about 31). Looking to add AAPL before the split on the 24th, which will bring me to 10.

COVID has narrowed my focus and I don't anticipate it to stay that way forever but as I've said before, I will not move into cyclicals until we see actual implementation of a vaccine. Whether that's by year's end or 2021, we'll just have to wait and see.

Wow, another good day in the market. After some serious blood letting, we closed nicely higher. A surprisingly profitable week, especially when considering the wretched numbers that were reported.

InMode is a good company. High insider ownership. I bought in low $20s and sold in the $30s; will buy in again. They ran into a bit of trouble due to most of their procedures/revenues are elective. Look for a good entry price as long as future shutdowns are managed so it does not affect their business adversely.

I just sold out of MSFT last week and will not be chasing it here as it tries to acquire TikTok (though I'm not opposed to adding on any pullback). My thoughts below:

-Pros: portfolio diversification for MSFT, acquiring one of the most popular apps for teens with an established user base, opens up MSFT to a different set of customers, TikTok (apparently) already generates a profit

-Cons: not sure how much of that profit-generation can be believed, running a platform which generates revenues completely from ads is not MSFT's strong suit (especially a user base without much income, comparatively speaking), Facebook will be launching Instagram Reels in August to rival TikTok, the security issues don't just go away overnight

TikTok is a strong name, but not necessarily an immediate revenue-generator that many believe (as an example, look at TWTR). That's not to say that MSFT isn't the best landing spot for them; it's just not something that needs to be chased in my opinion. Add on weakness, yes - because you're buying MSFT for their strong name, not the TikTok addition.

Very strange close, I am analyzing this morning.

There are too many news events happening that make me cautious.

No.

MSFT is almost as famous as GOOGL for buying/starting businesses that they eventually kill.

I do not believe this would mean anything material for MSFT, rather their current core business is what I focus on. I own MSFT and will hold it.

Stay disciplined and buy the dip.

We all know there could be signs of weakness throughout the summer, but that does not mean rush out and sell all positions waiting for a crash that most likely will not come at this point (obviously in my opinion).

I've been a bull and remain so - staying tech heavy for the time being, as discussed.
