Went in for one, came out with another

After having the Sub C for a brief period, I sat for a couple months with out a Rolex. I was trying to determine which Rolex was actually me. I have been collecting watches for 10+ years now but the Sub C was my first Rolex. When I did purchase it, maybe it just wasn't the right time, maybe other factors....Who knows...But today I went in to the AD with my heart set on the Explorer I. The AD had it set out for me, ready to purchase. As I looked upon the case with the Explorer on my wrist, something caught my eye. I have seen pictures, but I always thought the 41mm with smooth bezel would be too big....I placed the Explorer down on the jewelers pad, and placed the DJII on my wrist. Love....Slightly larger so has good wrist presence, classic design...The Rolex that fit my wants....

At first I thought that was Milgauss w/date! Is that 116300? I'll have to go to AD and check this one out!

nice - I did the same

Nice choice. I just did the same thing...all set to drop cash on a Daytona, went into my local Rolex store to see how the Daytona would look on my wrist. While looking around I saw the DJII blue stick face instantly changed my mind. I already have the submariner so the Daytona would just be another sports type model. I will however, be circling back to the Daytona to complete my collection.
