Do you still have the URGE? (Serious thread!)

Okay, guys, time to get a little serious!!

Simple question: Do you have the urge at present for another watch? Yes or No.

Please be absolutely honest about this one....just tell us whether you are dying and itching to pounce on another watch or are quite content with your present lot.

Me? And this God's honest truth....I am content with the 2 babies I have now. Seriously, I have no urge at all, no itch at all and no longing at all....ever since I got the 16610.

Vote with comments please!!

Thanks - JJ

That made me laugh so loud that I woke Lydia up .

Seriously, I was very happy with the line-up I have now. The key word here is WAS. Truth is, I am so taken by the Sub that I really would like a TT blue and a 16610 and a SS TOG w/ white dial and a Panerai, and a Breitling Navitimer and a JLC Master Compressor world chrono. Yes I do realize that I need help.

Honestly, I think I'll get the Panny by summer. Then maybe even a flip, yes a flip, of one of the present Rolexes for either a 16610 or the TT blue.

Now what sense does that make, CJ? Why get a Panny if you're planning on selling it and taking a hit on it? Why not instead just wait a bit and get the TT Blue Sub straight away? Have you won a goldmine at the casino or what?

I wouldn't sell the Panny. I may flip one of the present Rolexes for another one. It seems like I'm not really content unless I'm trying to get something. Once I have it, all is good for a few weeks then the urge hits again.

Another silly idea....just hang on there, my friend, show a little patience and constraint!! LOL!! Look who's preaching?

You already have TWO superb Rollies - the GMT-II and the ND-Sub. A TT Blue Sub will compliment these 2 very handsomely. And you will get an excellent deal on TT models. So...patience, pal....you'll get there!

Definately an urge

I have a beaut GMT Master. I wear it every day. For some unexplainable reason, I've got the urge to buy another watch. I am stuck on the Explorer II white dial. I would love to get one so that I have black dial and white dial Rolexes. The white dial kills me. I keep looking at that ad in NatGeo where that Norwegian guy walked alone to both poles and up Mt Everest without air.
To me the white dial Exp II is the epitome of cool watches.

Do you still have the urge?

Tardis, something like this?

I now have the ExplorerII and a TT DJ which is under 2 years old but the YG DD is still the one I crave for and perhaps the TT Blue Sub too.

The thought does enter my mind from time to time but I'm very happy with my 16610, so I voted no.

Middle of the Road

I'm in the middle of the road on this issue. I've shaken up my collection over the past 6 months. Currently I have the Plt. Yachtmaster, 16610, PAM88 & PAM112H.

The 112 was the latest addition after I sold my 111. I told myself that was it, but there are still 2 watches that I love and will continue to keep my eye on. The first is the TT Blue Subby and then the Panerai Black Seal. I try to have some restraint and only keep 4 watches at one time, but I feel like the ole addiction will get the best of me and I'll be talking watches again in the near future. Oh well.....

I haven't posted since I joined awhile back, and I'm sorry to say that I did get rid of my TT Blue Yachtmaster a few months back. I replaced it with a PAM88. There was only problem with the watch. Everytime I'm out in rural areas, the farm animals would look at me with a little too much interest..... or fear.

Still have the urge for a DD sometime, but not in a big hurry. I guess "URGE" is not the correct word or phrase here. Perhaps "Yeah, I want one, but I can be patient." Jeez! Got THREE Rollies now - wife's got a DateJust...

Dude, seriously, C'mon!! You are gonna tell someone to stay content with what they have? I think what CJ is saying is perfectly normal. He is feeling his way about and wanting to get the ones calling out to him. Does that sound unfamiliar?

Do as I say not as I do?

I did read your post CJ, but JJ he clearly said that he would sell a Rolex, not the Panerai. Besides, the Panerai market will not have him take a hit on the watch, much like a Rolex.

Good statement, that could go for all WIS though, not just a "Rolex nut".

DJ for me.

I currently have a sub date and Panerai PAM 48. I am looking to add on of these DJs:

116201 two-tone rose gold, silver dial, stick markers, oyster bracelet

or

116234 SS, silver dial (I think they call it the rolesor dial, sort of a 3D dial), stick markers, oyster bracelet.

One of these would give me a well rounded collection.

I voted yes. While I'm very happy with my Monster and my Explorer II, there is one watch, my muse, that still haunts me. It must be mine...

Good to see you too Daren

I do a lot of lurking on all the forums and post when I have a chance. Work and family keep me very busy.

I have someone working on getting me prices and availabilty on the DJs. I'll keep you all posted.

How could you not have the urge?

I love Rolexes as much as the next guy, but there are so many other brands I love and would love to own too.

Currently the two Rolex objects of my desire (along with everyone else) is the LV and Daytona.

Rolex aside, I have had my eye on an IWC Pilots Watch for some time now and a Panerai PAM88.

How could you not have the urge?
Good question, Spencer....and one which I've kept asking myself these past SIX weeks that I've owned the new 16610.

I don't know why, but as I've always felt it to be the ultimate Rolex, perhaps I am now seriously satiated. Of course, how long this satiation lasts, I really can't tell...but for now, I have absolutely no desire or urges for any other watches other than the two I already own!
