Where to ICE my Rolex - UK ?

Hi All

I’m looking for any recommendations of people / companies who could Ice my Datejust 41.

Please don’t shout me down just yet! My wife very kindly bought me, 7 years ago, a Datejust 41 with Rhodium / diamond markers on Oyster bracelet . An opportunity has arisen to add to my collection but I don’t want to add numbers to my overall collection. I will not sell this watch for obvious reasons, but I would like to modify it for my wife . Why, when On holiday In Miami recently we saw a subtle iced Datejust with the same dial. Just pave diamonds on part of the case plus on the bracelet polished links, she loved it !

So I would like to modify it for her to wear and enjoy.
Please can you share any recommendations of someone in the UK who can do this for me ?

Many thanks

The fact you use “ice” is irritating.

I don't think it's good idea to have after market diamonds add to your Rolex timepieces. It will bring the value of that watch way down. If you want to have an after market diamonds on the dial and bracelet, you can buy that kind of timepieces at a cheaper price than regular Rolex from secondary market dealers.

You can search on the internet for the secondary market dealers in your area. There are plenty in New York.

Let the haters hate. That’s their job.

Then do your thing.

Do what you like with the time piece. Bling it out, ice it out, show it out.

It’s not for me. But do you. If you have the means to do what you want with that time piece irrespective of “future value” and “investment value”, why the hell not?! Otherwise it’s just another boring datejust anyway. This type of enjoyment is often more pure than those screaming no.

And why can't someone wear a Hublot? I don't have one. But Jean Claude Biver has Hublots. Kobe wore Hublots. Sure, nobody wants to lose money. But what is wrong with loving an item so much and happily paying to enjoy it even though it doesn't appreciate. Also, newsflash, the modern Rolexes are BLINGY AND BEG FOR ATTENTION - "hey please rob me." Jubilee GMTs with over sized ceramic bezels. Oversized ceramic submariners with deep shiny bezel teeth. Fluted bezel datejust with polished center link jubilee or oyster. It's basically the pot calling the kettle black.

Try this one: Disgusting, you sound like someone who wears a [Rolex].
Has the same ring to it, don't it?

I did ask not to shout me down, I was only asking for advice .
The watch I have will never be sold unless I am in a very financial difficult situation!
It was given to me on my wedding day, by my wife, 7 years ago. I chose not to
Mention that particular detail, it’s very special to me . The word iced Up may mean certain things to different people. I would like to surprise my wife to have a little pave diamond detail on the bracelet etc to mirror at watch she saw that she loved . !
Anyway defence rant over, any recommendations very welcome . Thank you

Buying one which is already modified will be a lot cheaper than having the work done yourself.
These type of watches with aftermarket parts have little to no value and did cost a fortune to make.

one thing to consider is it's irreversible so if it's a watch your wife gave you and you flood it with diamonds you essentially destroy that watch forever. this isn't in the sense of whether or not diamonds are good/bad, i just mean that once you drill holes in a watch that's it. might be better to just buy one that was already done

This watch was a wedding day gift to you from your wife, so you say you will never get rid of it. Yet, you are effectively doing just that, but altering it and giving it to your wife to wear.

Why not buy from a Rolex AD a watch that's exactly what your wife wants? Also, does she want a 41mm watch, or would a 36mm be more suitable?

Try the Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham, if you must.

Personally I wouldn’t ‘ice’ a watch with a handful of ‘diamonds’ worth a tenner.

Where to ICE my Rolex - UK ?

So many very poor comments on so many fronts by (what I think) smart people 🫣

The “holier than thou” attitude is disgusting.

If you do not have anything nice to say….

Have you considered a dial swap - that way you can reverse if ever needed..?
Might be easier to find a pave dial than get a jeweller to change yours.
Plus you can see what it looks like before committing!

My wife loves diamonds on her watches as well. I personally wouldn’t modify that particular one due to what it represents, and as others have said….I’d look for one that’s already modified. My wife has 36mm Datejusts, a couple that remain factory, and a couple that were modified with diamond bezels. She’s not selling them, she’s handing them down to our daughters, so I didn’t mind the modified ones when I bought them for her. I’m a purist, but you know the saying…happy wife, happy…
I’m also in the camp of ….it’s your watch to do whatever in the heck makes you or her happiest!

Firstly, Maybe the word "Iced" is not a welcome phrase to many, didn't expect some of the comments though. I am asking for advice on how to "Modify" a watch to provide a more feminine look which i know my wife likes and therefore will derive years of pleasure wearing it.

The value of the watch is not £ or $ to me. The value is I have enjoyed seven years with it from my wedding day and rather than buy a diamond-based watch from a stranger, I have the opportunity, with my own watch, to create something I know my wife will enjoy. The only risk for me is that I can't return it to its original state, I clearly get that.

Anyway, my watch is below
116334.jpg

The watch she tried on in Mami is below. Gives you the type of look I'm considering.
Pavi.jpg
Thank you for the Birmingham recommendation, I will see if I can locate someone I can work with.

I am thinking to only "modify" the bracelet with Pave centre links, plus get a aftermarket diamond bezel. Then if need to return it to original, it's possible so to speak .
Good to listen to the advice, thanks.

Don't want to touch the dial, I just want to drill the Sh*t out of the case ......
