With many schools approaching $60,000 per year, unlikely. Even at $50,000 per year, it's hard to imagine the 5711 ever fetching $400,000.

Maybe a small mickey mouse watch (pink) is a good one for the daughter. I gave one to mine (5 year old). She might pick up your love for watches and attract a rich man but also a rich man that loves watches :)

Good ROI?

Not sure how it may be in other parts of the world, but I know of a 5711a that sold for $69K and a 5712a that sold for $70k this past week, both in Dubai

I am following with „saved search“ on chrono24 new 5711‘s as well as 5712‘s. Two or three are going every day. 5712‘s around USD 63k are sold within 3 days.

some people are listing 5990's north of 100k. This can't be real life.

one at 75k which is the lowest and the rest seem to be in the high 80's on chrono24

If 5980s are actually selling for 100k+, I can't see why 5990s are going for less

comparatively i agree even with the 80's being discontinued. I just think at some point there is no more value to be added. I dont think its a 100k watch. I own it, and its my favorite watch. I would absolutely sell it for that though. Who in the hell his buying it for that? its just weird.

They are very hard to get from the ADs. In fact all nautilus models are. Now how the market is reacting is completely unexpected to me. If it is up to me, I wouldn't buy at such ridiculous values but some people are obviously willing to buy, in fact many...

thats the disconnect to me in all this. Its the reason i got rid of my 5711. I liked it at the old retail. I bought it at the 20% higher retail after the price rise. It was a great watch, not worth the new retail price to me for a three hand with a date. So i can't imaging being willing to pay a premium on top of that.

At some point it has become less about the watch and more about getting something other people can't get. Thats the value i guess. Its not the actual watch.

Chrono24 is interesting but it is skewed heavily in favor of ldealers isn’t it? It’s basiclally collusion whether intentional or not. If every 5990 is listed for 80k+ then how much will the next one be listed at....of course 80+. It’s not as if there is a free market being represented on the site.

I kind of agree, I wonder if the Daytonas and nautiluses are readily available in the displays, would they be that popular? Or is it the psychological factor that whatever you can't get is becoming the most desirable?

I reckon the fact that PP have, sort of, through Thierry Stern’s interviews, conveyed that they will not be increasing production of steel pieces or the nautilus line in general, has perhaps contributed to the continued hype and demand

Believing is one thing, and knowing is another.
This isn't what quant traders do.

Considering there are also unworn 5712 twenty to thirty thousand pounds cheaper on Chrono from sellers with a large number of reviews, the 100k listing means nothing.

No SS watch should worth so much higher than AD price.

Don't know this firm, but big Euro grey Chronext still have this at £82K, claiming a discount of £3K too.
