I would say buy it, its my grail watch...BUT I am put off by the fact that it wasn't double sealed despite coming from an AD

Buy it. You clearly love the look of it and it is such a unique looking watch so isn’t something you get bored of. It is a lovely light thing to wear, so comfortable, honestly, just buy the sucker!!

I had to wait 14 months for mine and trust me, time went by slow

Buy it. For me, the opportunity arose (at Watches of Switzerland in Knightsbridge) although I wasn't really keen (I already had the 5711 white and 5726 grey). What I didn't like was the asymmetry, compared to the beautiful symmetry of the 5726. I bought it anyway.

The more you look at it, the more you'll like it. Buy it. You won't go wrong.

My first and only nautilus... chose it over the 5711. Feels perfect in the wrist and I never get tired of staring at the dial. But if you aren’t all-in on the 5712 for whatever reason, would let someone else get it and save yourself US $40k.

It's a fantastic looking watch in my opinion. Sadly I think its too small for my wrists. If they made it in 44 I'd jump on it.

5712 1a was my first ever Patek. I bought it in the London salon back when all Nautilus where easily available. Preferred it over the 5711. It was the start of a long and enduring love affair. Now I own all Nautilus models except for the 3712 and 5990. But if there is one Nautilus I will never part with, it is my 5712 that started it all. Buy it. You will not regret it.

Thanks to everyone for sharing. Very much appreciate the input.

Well, I decided last night to go for it. Seemed like a no brainer to me. Went back to my AD this afternoon and am now a new member of the PP club. It’s a beauty for sure and feel incredibly fortunate to own this timepiece. Just need to get used to the weight as it’s considerably lighter than my other watches. I think I’ll get used to it

Here it is on my wrist

Congrats! Weight doesn’t make a watch better. The one on your wrist right there is perfect. Enjoy!

+1. Not sure I understand when people talk about the "heft" on your wrist making it better. I have a day date and it feels like a brick. At times, that's fine, but I much prefer the lighter and more comfortable watches in my collection for regular wear.

I'm a bit shocked that an AD would be sitting on one of these long enough to even offer it to someone.

Surely they have a ton of other high paying loyalists who've been waiting for one for years.

Strange. Strange, I say.

That said, if you do get it, enjoy it in the best of health! It's a beauty.

Calling All opinions please - PP 5712

It was my first PP,it s light, thin, streamlined like a supercar.Great presence on wrist lovely complications,WR fine for swimming but it s not a typical beach watch IMHO.Very versatile, short or suit doesn t matter it matches to all attire.Expensive?yes but I think you wouldn t be here if that s count.
Scratches -with a minimum wrist awareness easy to avoid deep and big ones, some hairlines are unavoidable even if you keep it in the safe unworn
go for it.

Sincere thanks to all for the well wishes. Still in somewhat of a fog that I have this watch. Never ever asked for it. Now I know what others have experienced when getting lucky with a watch that has a waitlist for years by simply walking in and being taken care of by your AD. I’m in shock right now. Love my AD and my first PP. Have a wonderful day all. One more pic on morning #1.
